Faxing the range membership was the other option.
 
Tried to call the Quebec CFO today to celebrate day number 99 . Answering machine that said they can’t handle the high volume of calls, call back later, then shut. Wow

Yeah It occurs to me as well 2 times when trying to call them. Just Keep trying until there a place in the queue to wait for a big 15-20min f:P:2:
 
Well that's a good thing, right? I mean if they're trying to process an unusually high volume of calls, more people are applying for a firearms license than they're set up to handle... so things might get better? Not great for you of course, at least in the short term. In BC here, only 3 weeks into the wait, so lots of time yet to go I guess.
 
Alberta here. PAL & RPAL application.

No conjugal partners, no job loss, no criminal history, etc.

Application received: 2019-05-14
CC charged: 2019-06-07
Approved and issued: 2019-06-14

Yet to receive it in the mail.

No phone interview and my references were not called.

Update: I called the firearms program office and they told me that there is nothing wrong with their printer and that they are experiencing "technical difficulties".

I upgraded my PAL to Rpal , timeline was as follows

March 9 CRFSC
March 18 mail in application with range membership
April 29 shows up online
May 14. “Completed initial processing, now in progress “
May 21 approved with no called references
May 23 order pistol online
May 24 receive pistol at door
June 10 receive registration for pistol
June 19 receive Rpal

Not bad compared to when I got my pal which took 11 months. This time took 101 days

Did you call the Alberta CFO at all?

Mine was received May 17th, Alberta also.

How did you get your Rpal number, before receiving the card?
 
Once your license is approved, you can call and ask for your number. You can then go buy guns online or in person, though you wont be able to take possession until you have it in hand. By the time your transfer is approved and/or your gun is shipped to you, you'll most likely already have it.

Thats, exactly what I did
License Approved: 11 June 2019 (Still waiting to receive the Physical Card)
Already bought *Online :
- Colt Canada SA15.7 (5.56mm) Rifle
- Glock 17 Gen 5 w/Ameriglo Night Sights - 9mm, 4.5"

Still waiting to get my transfer approved, I might need to send a photocopy of my range membership directly to the RCMP because some folks told me that they will need it prior to approve my transfer
 
UPDATE:

App mailed: 2019-05-12
App received: 2019-05-17
CC charged: 2019-06-13
License issued: 2019-06-20

Now to wait for printer and canada post to deliver it :)

Weird... I asked can I have my RPAL Number and can I buy online already ? And he gived to me my number and told me their no problem to buy online without the physical card in hand
 
What better way to celebrate Day number 100 with another call to the Qc CFO? I received a bunch of bs excuses about their unreasonables delays. She even tried to put a part of the fault to Miramichi with their printer issue!!!

When I told her that from all the Canadian provinces Qc delays are by far the worsts, I lost her.


Fourth and my last call to them. I won’t do it again cause I’m really getting pissed and allergic to stupidity... talk is silver, silence is gold.
