Has anyone had a chance to play with one of these?

110 MOA adj. range....34 mm maintube...ZL3 turrent

Nice scope but priced like a nightforce so........

Yeah, its not cheap, different in a lot of ways though, nightforce is very robust and more target focused, depending on what model your comparing this to, it's like half the weight. This kind of fills a niche in a lightweight/long range way that others aren't filling. Especially with this being a 34mm tube and at 19 ounces. The next closest thing is a swarovski and it will be a 1" tube.

Nightforce and the gunwerks type setups are pretty cool and all, but overall the majority weigh more than the average remington or browning with a decent run of the mill mid range optic at exponentially more cost.

You could build something much lighter with this glass and come out further ahead cost wise.

Yeah, the new nightforce optics look very attractive, but the model you mentioned weighs over a half pound more.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but for an ultra-light build the ZL3 is the best choice in weight for an optic that will cover mid/long range properly.

Having said that, ultra-light and light weight rifles are kind of a niche, if I had to pick between the two I'm not sure I'd take one over the other, definitely exciting to see this as an option though. Would be perfect on my composite 788 6.5cm carbon/composite project for a test and review but beyond my budget a bit.

How does the glass compare to the VX6HD?

Leupold VX-5 HD and VX-6 HD have the same glass and lens coatings. The VX-6 will feature a greater number of lenses, due to the 6x erector system (vs. the 5x in the VX-5 HD).

The main differences between the two optics are options on the VX-6 HD:
- All models are illuminated
- The illumination is able to be programmed to act as a level - if you are not square, the reticle will flash (negates the need to have a bubble level on your rifle/optic)
- Alumina flip caps are included and installed
- Throw lever is included

Hope this helps.
