I am looking for a gunsmith that has had experience working on a High Standard, I am having a challenge with a gun I bought off EE, I have tried to fiz it but I can't find the problem. If anyone can recommend someone to me, thanks in advance

After 1st shot, when you pull the trigger again, all you hear is a click, sounds like when the disconnector grabs the hammer when you are shooting an AR-15 when you release the trigger before your next shot. I have pulled the grips off, trigger bar is not binding, everything seems to function well. I replaced the recoil spring, because when I first tried it, the slide was not going into battery every time, looked like spring was not strong enough to pickup next round and put it into battery

Is the leaf spring on the trigger bar, but if the bar is not coming up you should not get a click.
Check to see if the Sear adjusting screw is turned way in ( the screw in rear top of the frame) , if that is way out the sear will not reset
It is usually just lower than flush by a hair, people sometimes mess with this and go too far. part # 10480 on the standard Hi Standard breakdown
But with out looking at it I am not sure.
You have parts breakdown picture? I could post one if you don't.
Take the slide off and the left hand grip and the side plate , watch you have the spring in place and #### it and pull the trigger and see what happens, is the sear dropping the hammer?
DO NOT LET THE HAMMER HIT THE FRAME , use your thumb to stop it, as it is hard as hell on things .
Good luck Only other thing I can think of would be a hammer spring, But I have never had one of then go.
the hammer should be hard to ####. on my Victor ,I have a hell of a time pulling the slide back with the hammer down, but I am getting old and weak, I guess.
I do have the trigger bar springs if you don't have one, easy to lose, when you take the right hand grip off, the slide lock can fall out and that itty bitty spring can go, and they are hard to find, I am out of them. That is one of the things that Hi Standard could have done better.
BTW, anyone have a spare trigger laying around??????????????????????????????????????

The sear adjusting screw is about flush with the frame, I have tried adjusting in an out and made not difference, yes when I took off the grips, the spring is in place, the trigger bar moves freely and if I #### the hammer and release it with trigger, it works perfectly

BTW, if it fires the first round O.K., before you pull the trigger again, pull the slide back to make sure the hammer is cocked, if it is not, the slide is not going all the way back to reset the hammer ,Why?????????? crap ammo? do not shoot Hi Velocity, but I know we do, I have use Fed. 525 bulk pack ammo in some of my Hi Standards.

O.K. just see you last post, I am not sure, I admit I am not sure what is going on there, the hammer drops like it should?
The sear adj is to lighten up the trigger pull, go too far and the sear will not hold the hammer ( hair trigger)

As in the other post , at the range , I would check the slide after every shot , to see that it is cocked. I am stumped. Different mags to try, maybe the mag interfering with the slide,It happens if the lips are bent too much. Coffee time , back latter.

I was thinking the same thing, I have only shot CCI Standard velocity, but I tried 3 rounds of Federal high velocity to see if it made a difference and it did not, my Victor is hard to open slide when hammer is not cocked, but when I get the click I have to pull the slide open and it opens with no problem so hammer must be cocked

Back off the trigger stop screw in the trigger, if it is real close, it could be not releasing the sear sometimes??? at the range.
Another thing on these guns I find some times, not related, but I don't think they lube at the factory much and I have had a couple that the trigger pivot pin in the frame will have a lot of rust, and some guys have sweaty hands and that pin will rust to the trigger, if it sits for a long time .

Sound like the trigger bar is not pulling the sear, check that bar, on the back end notch that hooks the sear, it may be rounded off and sliding down off the sear. take a little file and square up th back of the notch, don't take any more than you have to, and you will have to back off the trigger stop as well,
open that that trigger bar spring a little to but more pressure on the bar.
Also put the slide on and make sure that the bar comes up when the slide is closed, when the slide is not closed the bar should be pushed down so the gun will not fire unless the slide is closed.
When you pulled the slide back after the click, did it fire then??
I was thinking the same thing, I have only shot CCI Standard velocity, but I tried 3 rounds of Federal high velocity to see if it made a difference and it did not, my Victor is hard to open slide when hammer is not cocked, but when I get the click I have to pull the slide open and it opens with no problem so hammer must be cocked

That trigger bar is not hard steel, so they do wear, kind of sounds like that may be the problem leave the slide plate off and check as you pull the trigger.
likely will not do it when you want it to.
If you figure it out or don't P.M., and I will get back to you.

I took some pictures so you could see

Hi Just got back in, That trigger bar looks fine, but the sear looks like it may be rounded off where the bar pulls on it?
To late tonight to pull one of mine out, will do Monday when I get back.
Does it drop the hammer when you pull the trigger like that, so you can see what is happening? if yes ??
I thought the click may have been the trigger bar slipping off the sear when trigger was pulled.
It looks like there could be little burr on the top side of the bar ahead of the hole?, not that should matter , other than a gritty trigger pull.
There are not that much that can go wrong with these, if they have not been messed with, if the mags are good.

Yes, when apart it drops the hammer every time, trigger is excellent, I can't see where the problem is, I have not removed sear or hammer, but nothing seems to be damaged or out of place

here are a couple of pictures of the link and sear on one I am working on, notice the shape of the extension on the sear that the trigger bar pulls on.
I don't have the spring in it as the trigger is out
