Blackened stainless

Does anyone have personal experience "bluing" stainless?
Ruger sells blackened stainless rifles, I am curious to know if there is a process one can do in the home shop, or, send to a smith that can do it. I have added stainless bottom metal as an upgrade to one of my guns, that I would like to be black. (I chose stainless for the strength)

Nitron is your best bet

caswell canada sells a kit. I used it on a barrel,turned out great.

Gunkote or Cerakote looks like bluing if applied correctly.

X2 for Caswell Canada. I did a few choke tubes, turned out better than I expected.
