Favourite hunting bullet for the 7mm Magnums?

Not a magnum but in my 280 ackley I love the 160 accubond. I don’t see why I would change that choice given an extra couple hundred FPS.

When I used to hunt with a 7RM I used lots of different bullets like 175gr Partitions, Ballistic Tips, 160gr Original X bullet (those penetrated like hell, easily smashing giant holes though both shoulders of big animals) I ended up with the 140gr TSX bullet though.

Today I would look at the 145 or 168gr LRX

160 Nosler accubonds no doubt.I have shot dozens of game with it close and far.It functioned flawlessly.Try it you like it !R26 or R22 worked in the 7 mag for me .

My 7mm “mag” experience is STW, Rem, 7/300 and 28 Nosler.

Its hard to pick a favorite without saying “It depends”. General big game I’d say 160 Accubond first choice with a 150 Ballistic Tip close behind with the caveat of mule/reds on down. Long range specific I’m more at a toss up between the 180 VLD and 168 ABLR with the second perhaps starting to pull ahead. The 195 EOL is showing a lot of potential on animals bigger than goats and cartridges bigger than the 7 Rem.

Just about anything other than a TSX though. Took a couple hundred game shots this week in NZ.

I'm using the 140 gr. Nosler Accubond in the 7mm Rem. Mag. and my son is using the 150 gr. Ballistic Tip in his 7mm STW. Both bullets are most effective, from whitetails to bull moose.
