Buying first .357 revolver... need a bit of guidance

I've got the TRR8 and the 627pc, both of which I enjoy, especially the 8 shot capacity. If I had to choose, I would go the TRR8 route, lighter with the same accuracy and quality as the 627.

357 is a fantastic round. I have both a Ruger SP101 and a Blued Smith (older one, don't remember which if stainless is the 5 or 686). They both shoot straight. The smith a little straighter, its got a longer barrel and a little more weight. I haven't shot it much. The ejector rod does spin lose on it and then I have to tighten it to open the cylinder. This is a common thing I'm told and there is a DIY fix that is free for it. Thing is, I like the ruger better. It's just a 5 shot and for bullseye at my club its a 5 shot rule. So works out great. If you want an older S&W drop me a line. I got it from it's original owner a few years ago on trade (he wanted something I had and didn't want, so I traded just to give it a try). I haven't put to many through it. Just enough to know I like the SP better - But - if I could only have one, it would be the 44 magnum (629 competitor to be precise) :)

Manurhin is the best quality revolver you can buy other than a Korth.

But get your line of credit ready lol.

So I have heard...in fact there are some that put it ahead of the Korth. Just a little shy of dropping the $3600 on it. I had a Valtro 1998A1 and it was beautiful to behold and fondle but it did nothing for me when I shot it. From what I have been watching/reading on the MR73 is they are forged Swiss watches that are shooters.

For the price they better be amazing and should require little in the way of after support. They shoot like a precision rifle.

Congrats on your new range toy.

i just sold this GP100 Nice gun just found i wasnt into revolvers as much as i thought i would be seemed the semi autos always followed me to the range
