Never owned one before but WOW.
So slick and well finished.
Not much of a post but it's the happiest I have been with a purchase.

Honestly I dont know how old it is.
3" reciever, metal trigger guard...be lucky if it had a box through it.
Action bars are mint, no marks

They sure are nice got one 20ga that the action was a bit sticky, turns out there was crude so cleaning took care of that, then the 28g is like new wow the action is super slick, really happy with both honestly. one is 35 yo and the other 22yo. Older one is nicer

Honestly I dont know how old it is...

Thank you.

Remington Wingmasters....now that's a gun!

I got a new one in 12 gauge over 40 years ago. Used it as my main (read always) hunting gun for 25 years. Ducks, geese, upland and turkey. Fields, woods, marshes and plenty of sloughs. Cleaned it about once every five years. Lost it for 3 years and when found, rusty as crap. Never once has it failed to go bang when I wanted it to. It holds pride of place in my gun safe. I have many other guns now, all worth far more money. But that Wingmaster is not going anywhere except back into the field with me on occasion.

It works first time, every time! Like the old Timex ads.....It takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

Just thinking about it makes me want to go shoot a duck!;)

I have one of the new Wingmasters and it's a great gun. Beautiful wood and blueing and super smooth. I've owned other pumps including a Browning BPS and the Wingmaster is by far my favourite.

I had a 1957 WM I bought for $150 and it was sweet but I wanted a 3-inch gun with swtichable chokes and sold it and got an 870 Express.

Don't regret it really, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a nice older Wingmaster with the features I need.

Bought my 16 in 57. I was only a youngster. I shortened the buttstock to 12.5" because it was my foul weather shotgun and my Cdn.Army parka was so bulky. I don't hunt in that kind of weather now, and some say I ruined it. I bought a rib and Poly-choke from Brownells about 20 years ago. The rib was the biggest asset the Poly choke a close second. It points like it never did before. I point it like a paintbrush, laying a swath onto that single bird, but sometimes a double. I've always wanted a real steel blued trigger group for it but they are rare as hen's teeth. My Father loved it as well. The only thing that would make him leave his Stevens 16 home.

My first shotgun was a mid-1980's Wingmaster, but someone helped themselves to it, so I had to replace with an early-1990's Wingmaster. Even then a slight decline in the fit and finish of the exterior and the internals was evident, but the gun has never let me down. Through my teens and 20s I shot everything with that gun, from woodcock to deer and everything in between, and lugged it all 7 lbs 13 oz of it across countless miles. The only thing I had to replace was the stock, only because I foolishly found a way to break it :(
These days that Wingmaster serves as my waterfowl and turkey gun.

I'll admit to having no exposure to the exalted Wingmaster. I do have a Beretta 1301 Comp, a Mossberg 590 A1 and a Remington 870 Magnum Marine so can someone explain what I'm missing? Is a Wingmaster that much better than what I already have that I should get one?

Your 870 Magnum Marine is a variation of the Wingmaster, Remington made them in many configurations for many years. The older ones are built a little better in my opinion, and are the better choice over the current models, but overall they are all still a decent shotgun.
