I've got an Asena zr7 and was wondering if anyone knows if you can reverse the safety on this or any of the other very similar Turkish semi autos? I shoot left, and it's a cross bolt safety which is a real pain in my arse to use...

Thanks guys!

Maybe this will help if you can't reverse it. I bought a Winchester sxp last year, didn't think much about the crossbolt safety since I've hunted and shot an 870 for years. The difference between the safety being at the front and the back of the trigger guard was a big difference though, and I found that I couldn't reverse the safety.

The solution I came up with was to drill and tap the safety and fabricate a lever with a lobe that would ride on the trigger guard and operate the safety when rotated. I've hunted with it for one season and it's worked flawlessly.

Does the safety button rotate as you work the lever?

The safety button is not round on my gun (its sorta triangular), so if the button needs to rotate then this method likely won't work for me...

No, the button doesn't rotate, it's just drawn across as the lobe contacts the trigger guard. The lever is the only rotating part, the screw is stationary as well.

Nice job man. I shoot right handed and will likely never need to employ this clever little trick but had to applaud you. Well done!
