Is anyone in Canada stocking holsters for the new Walther PPQ Q5 Match SF yet? All I can find is a couple of US suppliers.

I'm looking for a holster that (ideally) could be used in both IDPA and IPSC (with priority on IPSC).

Well, I suppose the lack of replies is probably just the cost of being an early adopter.

In the end, the best holster I could find was the Dara Drop Off-set Action Holster (see: http s://www.daraholsters.com/drop-off-set-action-sport-holster/). Pricey once you factor in the exchange rate, shipping, and tax but I could not find any options domestically yet.

I've got it rigged on my Double Alpha belt and it has a nice secure fit. The overall fit and finish are very good with a good positive lock-up on the pistol. If I notice any issues once I get it to the range I will post a follow-up.

Just remove the drop offset bracket for IDPA if you’re a guy. Women can use the bracket, but men can’t.

For IPSC, check the distance your gun grip is from your body. 2” max. Check the rules for how they measure it.

Good point. I haven't done the measurements yet to ensure it's legal. Eyeballing it looks ok but I will measure this weekend.

we've got a mold incoming for the PPQ M2 Match Steel frame, should be up on the website soon

Did you check out the alpha x holster from DAA?

I didn't but it's because I'm not a fan of that style of holster. Not a judgment at all, just not my preference.

The Dara is proving to be an excellent holster. Unfortunately, it's a bit expensive to bring in from the US so it will be good to have some local options.

Not a problem! :)

Tm don't forget us in IDPA. The Open version is not legal in IDPA. To the OP if you are going to shoot both IDPA and IPSC go with a Soley Canadian IDPA compliant holster with a regular belt attachment and if you must get the dropped and offset attachment without the open front. I think any benefit of a perceived speed advantage of drawing from the open style holster is lost when movement is required before you are in a position to shoot. That and I have yet to see a gun fall out of regular belt holster with either mount vs a number of guns that fall from open designed holsters every year, (at matches or at the range). They do look cool though.

Take Care
