ATRS MS Average Build Price?

Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a U/L receiver set -- what am I looking at to build it up in terms of cheapest? midrange?

Just so I can get an idea of what to budget for the rest.

Also is it cheaper to build yourself or just have the ATRS guys do it for you?
 
Very roughly, I'd say (without optics):
$2k = Kia
$3k = Audi
$4k = Ferarri

ATRS will do the assembly for around $150. You should be able to buy most of the tools you need to do it yourself for that price and then you have them if you ever need them.
 
This was my cheapest build. It was a Stag Arms rifle that I stripped and then sold the receiver to recoup some of the cost. Total build cost ended up right around $2K. My other builds are costing significantly more.

Cheapest? Add the price of the reciever set to the cheapest used 18.5"+ used AR in the ee, like a DA 20" for approx $600.

If you are especially savy and patient, you may be able to do a little better in terms of quality and price as a friend of mine did, but $1600 all in is aboult the minimum. A good build will likely be about $2500, extravagant builds will take you as high as your pockets can afford.

Exactly this. I have one I put together for 1600 and my next one from ATRS will be in the 3500 mark....just need my receiver! :)

Some calibers are hard or impossible to get parts for so someone would need to manufacture them, fit and test the rifle before handing it to a customer. If you can buy all the parts for your build then there is no real need to pay someone else to do the build unless you want peace of mind that a gun maker did the work and tested it before handing it over to you.
 
You can probably get one built with the cheapest (I.e. Chinese off brand) parts for about $1500. You can get chinesium stocks, handguard, parts etc on AliExpress for cheap. Then something like a DA barrel from Canada Ammo. It won't be... good? But it'll be functional. Ish.
 
I used a colt 20” as a parts rifle for mine and sold the receiver set. Looks the same as the above 2k roughly will get you a half decent rig
 
Cheapest and easiest is to buy receiver set, then a colt 20" AR for $1500.

Sell the colt receiver set for $350.

You have as milspec as it gets not an AR for decently cheap
 
Average price is subjective. Just like beer there is cheap stuff that tastes like crap but still gets you drunk or more expensive that you savor but still gets you drunk.
Best bet is to add the cost of the receiver set to the list of parts you want to use and add up the total.
The cool part of any of the AR platforms is you can assemble it as cheaply or as expensive as you wish.
I went all out on my Sporter, Trigger Tech trigger, CFW barrel and hand guard CTR butt, ambi titanium everything and it came in at around the $4500.00 mark, no regrets.
 
Cost me around $1500 just to build my second upper, I didn't think I really went all that extravagant on the parts but it adds up fast.

I really see no point in spending $1000+ on a receiver set then install Chinese or other cheap parts on it. If money is a restriction I would practice a little patience and save up and buy better parts as you can afford them. You'll be a lot happier with the end product.
You could buy cheap parts just to get out shooting and replace things as you can afford to but the resale on Chinese parts is next to nothing so it's all a loss basically. If cheap ends up being the route you decide on I would buy everything off the EE, will save you a bunch of money letting someone else pay retail for Norinco parts and you paying half. The problem with Norinco or other cheap parts is that they don't always mix well with milspec parts. If you buy a Norinco barrel buy the BCG that it came with to ensure headspacing is correct. If you buy US built milspec parts it's mostly a non issue mixing and matching brands.
 
Man if anything the krylon devalues the gun cause the poor sucker that buys it has to spend multiple hours cleaning that garbage off. That guy is really just seeking some attention, as per usual. Look at me look at me, love me I need the love from cgn to feel complete.

I’d more compare to a Toyota Truck. Bc all ATRS is high quality. Atrs and Kia don’t belong in the same sentence. So my scale

$2000 is an SR5
$3000 is an TRD
$3-4 plus is a Limited.
