Swiss Rifle Postal shoot

Not that many in the states have them. But here..........

I'll check it out with the other people involved.
Just might be a good idea for Canadians, and Swiss.

Ok.

We agreed to have a separate category for the PE90 variants, together with the Stg57's, from bipods, or sling.
People in Switzerland, or those with access to electronic targets, can shoot it at 300m and send in the electronic score receipt instead of a target.

Otherwise, it's 100m or 100yards.

diopter, quick but offtopic questions... what kind of finish do the Swiss use on their rifles? Particularly 1889s and 1911s - is it BLO or something else?

I like these parts :) :

"4) NEW Category- Pre 1889 rifles with iron sight: These will be twelve shots slow fire only in deference to the single shot rifles like the Martini. Vetterlis will be in this category.

Ammo: Unlike Swiss programs, reloads will be allowed , on ranges where that is allowed."

BLO, and many years of using the yellow colored vegetable based grease on the metal and stocks. This gave them a warm, very slightly waxy feel.
K31s were mostly shellaced.

 Awesome! I'll give it a shot.:)

When approximately do you expect the deadline for the shoot to be? I need some time alone with my Vetterli.

I know it's postal, but is there a time setup for a local shoot? If so, where and when?

I'm still waiting to receive the targets.
Was shipped almost two weeks ago.

I'm hoping to give everyone six weeks time, not including the time for the mailing
I'd say the deadline would be late October - early November.

Target

Someone wanted to know what target we'll shoot on.
This is a reduced version of the Swiss A10 target.
Bassically the ISSF 300m Target With the A5 scoring also included.

This year it will be another ISSF 300m reduced target to be the same size rings as past years. This year it will be the A33 Target from National Target Company.

No, this target was shot in the scoped category, front support only, not benchrested, in the 2005 postal shoot.
He shot two nines in the six shot rapid-fire string and ended up with 118 out of a possible 120.

The different categories are there for a reason.

Wonder why I like K31s? :)

Got mine today - thanks. :) My Vetterli M69/71 will not dissapoint.

Do I include payment when I return the target?

Shot my Vetterli M69/71 today - did well. :)

-5C with a 15 Km wind made it feel "brisk".
