Looked at a Lithgow tonight a friend has that he wants to sell. Bolt, receiver, barrel and rear sight match. Bore is very good with as near as I could count 5 groove.Actually its closer to mint. But I didn't see the common .303/2.222inch stamping unless its under the stock line. Wood is cut with a few small dings and such, top rear handguard is there. Is it common on them to not have the 303.2.222 inch stamping?

I am thinking as for worth right around the $200.00 area. Thoughts?

I would say your evaluation is correct price wise.

If you do purchase it, I would suggest you look for some proper Coachwood stocks for it. Australia or New Zealand would be a likely place to start.

Putting it back together would likely enhance the value well beyond sourcing the proper furniture and stock fittings.

I already have one 1 year off from this one that I bought a cnc stock for with metal from the EE. But I thought if the guy didn't want a crazy price that I might grab this one also. He also has a P14 hidden somewhere in his basement he is trying to find. As for Aussie or NZ,I would hate to see the total price shipped here for a stock. But I shall look and see what I can find. Thanks..

Should also have Crown BNP if Birmingham proofed, or, rarely, arm and sceax over NP for London. A large * as a sold out of service stamp might also be there.

I don't remember any of those being on it.I am not sure what the fella is going to want for it,I told him to come up with a price. But I do think its gonna be high.

It will not have a BNP proof mark if it didn't go through the British proofing system. Lots of SMLE's were sporterized by people here. BNP is for British Nitro Proof, not Birmingham nitro proof.
A* means there was rust in the bore when inspected by an Armorer. Sold out of service is two broad arrows pointed together.
