Help me make the final decision. Now with pics.

I was really leaning towards the 85 but i plan on running a swarovski with turrets so i dont want to run the risk of having a rifle that wont function properly. I went and held the a7 but i much prefer the laminite stock on the 85. I will go and try out a few brownings but im findind it hard to locate a all wether xbolt. Thanks for all the input.

The All Weather X-Bolt was a Shot Show special. If the store doesn't have it, they can't even order it. They had to order it at Shot Show in order to get it.

Swarovski Z3, Z5, Z6, and Z8 without the BTF windage turret doesn't have any ejection issues on Sako 85. You might have an issue with the X5 and Z8 with BTF windage turret if its mounted too low. If you're just using a Z3 - Z6 with the BT and 4W you're good to go.

So im looking to buy a hunting rifle that will serve me for years.

What i want.
300wsm
Stainless
Sub moa
A bolt lock when safty is on
Box magazine

So i have kind of narrowed it down.
Sako 85 hunter ss laminite
Sako 85 finlight
Sako a7
Browning xbolt tungsten
Browning xbolt all weather

I like the sako 85 but is it worth the $$? I dont mind spending the money but is the price worth the product.

Sorry i know there are tons of these posts but nothing beats first hand experience.

Call Nechako Outdoors in Vanderhoof BC and ask for Mark. Then buy what he tells you to buy. It's that simple. :)

he has owned/shot all of your selections and can give you real advice that compares/contrasts them all. And maybe a few others not on your list, too...

I went through this same ordeal, I had two Sako 85’s. a 7RM and a 260, the ejection on the 7mm was brutal, and the 260 was better but not great, unacceptable for a hunting rig, I searched for a prefect rifle, but realized I’m to picky so in doing a full custom.

So i ended up getting a xbolt pro tungsten paired with a vx6 hd 3-18×50. Supper happy with the fit and finish. Im a bit worried about the weight but hopefully the break will help with recoil.

Sorry its is a 44 objective. I got it at the powder keg in kamloops mark was awsome to deal with. I can wait to get out to the range and see how she runs.
Im blown away by the scope its amazing i have never owned glass half as good as this. The light that it picks up is wild i was sitting out at dusk with this and my vortex viper and i bet you there was atleast 20 minutes more where i would still take a shot with the leupold. Every one i have shown the rifle has the same reaction when they grab it " wow thats light". Im coming from hinting last year with a bcl 102 with a match 6.5 creedmore barrel so this thing is almost half the weight i cant wait till opening day.

..... which is a bonus. The big 50s are goofy looking and need to be too high to clear the bbl.

That’s what got my attention. I’m not a fan of 50mm objectives at all. I saw his set up and thought it didn’t look bad at all, then I zoomed on his scope and saw the 44mm on the bell. Again, sweet set up!

Did you tell us what cartridge it’s chambered in?
