Derya MK12, just buy one already! Lol

Tried one with clay pigeons. Doesnt quite feel right but shoots real well. Using the holo sight on clay is pretty amusing and really natural.

I'm guessing you had a hard time when leads were outside your field of view...

You can actually put black tape in front of the objective then shoot with both eyes open.

Right eye sees the red dot and left eye sees the target.

This way you can lead 10 feet if you need to.

I know it sounds strange, but it works.

Any idea how long your break-in period was? I’ve put about 50 shots of mixed buckshot and slugs through my mk12 and it still won’t cycle any birdshot I’ve tried. Maybe it’ll need more of a break-in?

Mine wont cycle that cheap Challenger crap if that happens to be that you are using.

But I would still take another 50-100 shots then disassemble the gun and clean thoroughly. You will get quite a bit of junk and break in wear by that point. Gun will free up nicely.

Oh man I wasn't really planning on buying a shotgun but perhaps I will now. I like the steel and ice versions.

I am relatively new to guns and only have a piston AR-15. Out of curiosity what happens if you assemble this particular shot gun incorrectly? Or would that be relatively impossible, say there is a function test that would rule out any possible issues after reassembling. I have a slight fear of breaking things, probably just the lack of experience.

If ur new to guns, id suggest getting a more proven shotgun platform instead, something that isnt made in Turkey lol. Seriously tho, if u buy a Turkish shotgun, theres a high chance your "fear" of just breaking things and improper assembly will extend to:

Clearing malfunctions

Experimenting with different loads to see what offers best reliability

Repairing factory defects, or design flaws due to poor Turkish workmanship

Troubleshooting and researching solutions to malfunctions

Shipping the shotgun back and forth between warranty centers

Etc ..etc

Not a beginner friendly platform in the slightest.

Has anyone been using any extensions for their uzkon mags? Recently got a +5 but after assembling it I can do 16 shells easy plus 1 in the chamber not gonna complain about a 15rd mag fitting 16 took some fitting to get it together. Took em to the range this week and ran beautifully fun range toy wish they just made a drum but oh well I just have some absurdly long ass mag.

Mine doesn’t like it either I ran like 125 challenger slugs through mine and I’ll still get a FTE every 20ish rounds I just don’t think it likes low brass. I found it likes score ammo a lot price wise their similar and Canadian so it’s a plus I have alternated between the 2 had one stoppage from the very first score shell I ever fired but after that nothing but smooth sailing.

The challenger shells have issues In many shotguns in my experience and not just Turkish guns. Thank you again Murray 3-D for your thought out informative anti Turkish shotgun knowledge. I will be sure to keep a close eye on it for the impending failure. It hasn't happened in the first 3000 shells but it must be overdue.

Cheers

That is all BS. Plus MK 12's are cleaning house in alot of 3 gun matches.

The past few years Turkish stuff is some of the best for fit, finish, reliabliabilty, and function. Better than most American made that's for sure.

Keep going...I ran 75 slugs and 75 buckshot through mine with a mag of birdshot between every few mags of slugs/buck over 2 range sessions. Just ran 80 rounds of cheap Winchester birdshot through it without a hiccup. I ran another 40 of Federal through it right afterwards and again no hiccups other than almost burning my hand on the hand guard.

It was ridiculously dirty after the first 80 but ran like a champ through the last 4 mags...120 rounds cycled perfectly will get you through most club level matches so mines ready for its 3Gun debut in August.

Lol obviously someone's taking advantage of the pot legalization!

Im not commenting here to convince the Turkish fanboys. Im commenting to provide fair warning to the new shooters that sh!t aint always fine and dandy when it comes to these kinds of shotguns.

Murray 3-D, did you pick up a Derya MK12? Just wondering if it's first, second or maybe third hand experience you're drawing on?

Cheers

Turkish fan boys hahaha. Yeah I smoked a joint and suddenly was convinced Turkish shotguns are the BEST! I own 1 Turkish gun, the MK12. It's much better made than any Mossberg or Remington that I own. More reliable too.

I'm a fanboy of things that work. And it works for near 2 years now perfectly.

And everyone I know who owns one has not had a single issue. Thousands and thousands of problem free rounds fired.

Competitions won.

Nope, most of me wants to never touch a turkish shotgun again (excluding my SXP), but a small part of me wants to try a MK 12, just because i could always use YOU as a warranty lol. If i buy one because of your word and it turns out to be a pile of crap like my previous Turkish shotguns and most others ive seen... id expect YOU to take it off my hands, refunding me for the void it made in my wallet naturally.

The small part of me would also have to wait, cus im not ready to abandon the 100% reliable mag fed Valtro ive been using the past 3 years for 3 gun.

Ran 50 + more birdshot through mine today, 4 different shooters, not a single hiccup. Weird 'eh?

I will literally let you run the guts out of mine if you are ever in Ottawa... So long as you buy the beer afterwards... ;)

Cheers
