Do i need a dedicated 6.5 creedmore bolt carrier when building a new upper, or a regular .308 will do.

Your recommendation on type, finish and maker is appreciated.

Also what is the optimum barrel lenght and twist for long range work.

Finish and maker ?

Regards.

308 and 6.5 have the same size case head.
Might be worth looking into bolts with a smaller fitting pin hole as some people have reported piercing or flowing primers around the pin with 6 and 6.5 Creedmoor. I haven't had any issue but am going to the Odin bolt to use with my titanium carrier now that I'll be handloading.
I use a Brownells titanium Bolt carrier and it is top notch as are their AR-15 BCGs.
I like them nitrided as they are easier to clean and seem to run smooth. Hard to beat Brownells BCGs on price and quality.
I don't shoot a 6.5 but I think guys usually run an 8 twist. Barrel length is entirely preference based on your desire for speed and handling characteristics.
