Just thought some folk might like to see some high country.
Christy and I just celebrated out 10th wedding anniversary so we dropped the kiddies off at the Grandparent's and took off for the hills for Bighorn Sheep.

We got up to +2C the first morning and started climbing. No tags were filled but it wouldn't be called hunting if you did that every time you went out would it.;) We had a great time. This was also a first for Christy to get on top of a mountain so we had a fun time. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Good shots Noel! I cant believe Christy took you instead of me :( ;) :D

The Sportiva's sure help out in the flimsy ankle department Dave, thanks for the help finding a good boot.;) Now Christy knows why I'd rather climb than descend. She loved it all until we were coming back down. I kept hearing, "we didn't come up here, did we?" lol:D I hope it gets in her blood so she keeps coming out. Otherwise she may be asking you to go along too. That way she will have two guys to pack her off the hill.

The pack works awesome too.

Cory, you better pull out the wallet and go shopping for your honey. You may have some brownie points to try and regain.:p

308BAR, that is my little Brno 21H in 7x57. My favorite one to pack so far.

Thanks for the kind works guys!

Glad you two had a great time!

I see you are trying to cover up that backpack . Where is your hunter orange for safety man ;) :D

Be carefull, someone might think you are a rock and shoot you :p :D

JK of course...

That jacket is actually pretty good camo for your "loud" pack Dave. lol
Notice how I use strategic folds and crinkles in the jacket to make it appear to be a large boulder on my back.

I really doubt we would have been hidden from the sheep as Christy was running around looking at all the fossil's being skylined all the time. There was anywhere up to 4 guys on the next mountain scurrying around like ants on their pile too. Does anyone use stealth anymore???????

10 for us too Noel, on sept 4(I think). I thought the little lady said she wanted to go bear hunting on our anniversary but she actually was suggesting we go to the Bears Den for supper.

Nice country, my knees actually started to swell just looking.

Congrats to you and Caroline Jarrod! It sure goes fast doesn't it!
Take her to the Den for supper, and then haul her out to chase bear after too. If she wants a Muley mount over the fireplace she won't mind chasin a bruin either.

My knees are giving me grief too. Slow and steady wins the race. Mind you another guy beat us to the top. He only sat there a half hour so I figured something might pop out after he left. No dice.

Are you heading out to your honey hole this year?

Updatelee, it is a great view. I wish I had taken up this mountain hunting about 15 years ago.

Noel

WOW I wish my lady was more interested.

I finally got her interested in shooting and loading some light load 110 grs for the 308. I doubt I am very close to getting her out hunting though. Maybe bear season next spring, but I kind of doubt it.
