I am looking at a 6" nickle S&W M57. 41 Mag. Original box with target hammer, 3 sets of grips and a Leupold 1.5X scope. Complete with 250 brass, RCBS dies and a few 100 assorted bullets. Seen a bit of use. Nickel looks great.

What is this worth? He is asking $1300.

Thanks.

Not outlandish but on the high side depending on what the accessories are worth to you. Or what you could sell them for. The leupold 2x pistol scope would have some value but I am not familiar with the 1.5. Another thing to consider- if it was drilled for a scope post factory, that detracts significantly from the value. All in all it sound like a shooter so I’m thinking closer to 1k ‘If’ you want the extras.

I agree with the others. 41 Cal limits your market to collectors / reloaders. Unfortunately it’s likely been tapped for the scope eliminating the collectors from the equation. $850 all in is likely what one would get on the CGN EE after being listed for $1K and getting bumped a couple times.

It could have a scope mount that goes on in place of the rear sight, I have one or 2 around yet, I think I have a Leopold 1.5 power pistol scope (Ruger marked) so they make one , never use it as I use red dot these days, but it was nice for snipping gophers,
I have never had a 41, market would be small, dilled and tapped is a big no-no , so it is woth what ever as a shooter, and you are willing to pay, But that price id too high.
Minty in a box , than yes to a collector.

Talked to the guy some more. It has been drilled and tapped. He is the original owner since about 1980. The scope is mid 80s vintage Leupold extended eye relief scope silver in color. Non carbide RCBS dies. Lots of brass and bullets.

Too bad it is not the one in the bottom picture. That one would be worth more to some.

You are correct. I haven't seen it yet. Going at 1pm to the club to go have a look. Hmm. Those are the pictures on the ad.
Sounded like a older fellow.

Here is the ad:

To be blunt, I can't tell from your pictures if it good or what.
The scope really don't add to the price, the extra holes in the frame hurt it big time.
I would never look at that at that price point

No harm in looking i figured. We were both going to the club anyways.

The gun is in decent shape but seen lots of use over the years. Was purchased in about 84. Scope at the same time. Bought it for silhouette shooting. Nice nickel finish.
Frame had one hole drilled and tapped for the Leupold mount. Right at the pin for the barrel. He thinks he still has the sight.

I always wanted a 41 but don't think this is the one.
