Ok im sick and i cant enjoy field shooting any more so i want to get a hk usc and i want to make it look like a ump someday. The first gun i ever touched and fired and i want it to be my last one i buy so im getting one regardless of the answer (the gun that is) but can i get a FBI lower imported as its a semi only.

Has anyone done the conversion up here?

Also if this isnt the right forum SOrry but to be fair it is a black sometimes gray rifle.

Yes, you can import a semi UMP lower. Problem is it’s ITAR controlled and you won’t be able to export it yourself. You’ll need to use a 3rd party export/import service like IRunGuns.
You’ll also need to get a stock block adapter, stock, magazines (since the USC mags don’t work in the UMP lower) and do a little dremel work to the inside of your upper. All doable, but will take time.

I purchased the HERA Arms conversion kit for mine years ago and it was cheaply made (cost a fortune too). The folding stock mechanism would have broke in no time and was very loose - wouldn't lock up tight. Have they improved the stock at all?

TBO I'm sick of everything having a AR,ACR stock. I was going to get a kris but all I could find was gen 2s with carbine stocks I loved the original one but SHDO.

Irunguns has imported from HKparts before, do an order up of all the parts you want from HK parts, and get IRG to do a 3rd party import. You should be able to get the lower and stock block, and any magazines you want.

I was going to go thru IRGs but wasnt sure about the lower, didnt want to buy one only to find i cant have it.

Thanks for the info guys.

If money is no object, just get yourself a real semi - auto UMP and save yourself from endless hours of fiddling about, dying the receiver and making do with aftermarket bits and pieces .

There are some real UMPs in civilian hands in Canada and they do come up for sale now and then. Put a WTB ad in the equipment exchange and you might be surprised at what is offered.

Someone already offered a UMP40 but like I said to them i'm doing it this way to keep my brain and hands busy because apparently if you do that it slows the progression of MS along with the drugs. I dont know if that's true but it feels real good to look at something and say "I built that" and its half the fun:)

I enjoy my wife's USC with Hera conversion on occasion. The ACR stock leaves you an adjustable LOP that the stock on the UMP does not have.

Cheers
Moe
