Churchill Orcap II 12ga O/U Picture and Review thread!

Looks good. Yes your case is different than mine from the outside from the looks of it.

Yes I was expecting the hard plastic case pictured but I got this hard case with a felt top on it. Leather Churchill logo on it and the inside is foam cut out. So much softer then hard plastic so I am not complaining! lol

Had one, sporting 32" barrels and all the fancy stuff. Put over 10000 rounds through it before I sold it. Never missed a beat, and that extra tight lockup eases up a bit over time. Great gun for the price. Comes with a 3 year warranty as well. They do seem to fit taller shooters better...

Very good news!

Ohhhhhh yes!! There is a generally accepted custom here .... that whoever creates a "Want info on" thread and then buys the gun ... is obliged to post a detailed range report in this forum!! ;)

We need a range report asap!

Seen, don't get my paws on it till I get home this weekend. Already have ammo and clays waiting. If I will be hitting local club or personal farm is yet to be decided.

Will edit original to include day one of shooting updates lol

Here's one thing you may want to look into. Most European (and Japanese) made shotguns have a cast to the stock - either left or right. Most American guns have a neutral cast - thus making the gun somewhat universal. From my own experience in shooting clays, proper cast plays a significant role in shotgun fit, and perceived recoil. I wouldn't buy one of those Churchills for volume shooting if it didn't have a right hand cast....

what is the cast of a winchester 101: some were made in Japan, some in Belgium?

Beautiful gun !! Love the wood. The fit and finish on yours looks excellent as well.

From what I can see, they are almost identical to the Webley & Scotts 900 series. Exact same style of semi hard take down case too (green for Webley's, along with a Schnabel fore end ), that's it ! Gotta be coming out of the same place in Turkey.

You'll have lots of great shooting with that one for sure. Let us know how much your scores go up ...or down...LOL

I have one but mine came in a different box a few years ago....i hunted and hunted for an over under and when i saw this in store i was so impressed of the fit/finish on the gun for the price i bought it on the spot. My buddies i hunt with were actually jelous of my rifle last year and they carry Brownings lol....

These shotguns were of better fit and finish than the CZ's i looked at...while i own most of the other CZ line i have stayed away from CZ shotguns that are outsourced to other companies for production.

Only issue i has was she was tighter than my prom date but that loosened up after a while.... great shotgun and i believe it has Beretta threaded chokes though i could be wrong

Another common misconception is what makes a gun fit properly. Most people don't know what proper gun fit actually is. Not to be disrespectful to anyone, but several days at the trap range is not an appropriate sample size to judge of the quality or longevity of the gun. Nor is comparing a score of 10-18 to anyone shooting Blazers as the two are not related. I would suggest that an experienced shooter using a proper fitting gun should be able to hit more targets then 10-18. If not, I would dare to say the gun doesn't fit right.

On another note, I like my Churchill SxS. If my gun is indicative of all Churchill double guns, I would say that its one of the better made Turkish double guns
So very true unless you have been standing on a trap or skeet shooting pad for 2 days and 400 + clay targets broken already and you are in the home stretch for the high ove all championship you really have know idea about what it takes to break clay targets . That being said enjoy your shoguns at your level . Just saying
