Our hunt camp, seems to be very good at getting fellas towed.
If you use your vehicle at all around our camp, it's pretty much guaranteed that eventually, you'll be towed.
I've been towed, three times over my deer hunting career. From deep sand, from deep snow. (both times high centered) and once, because I lost my differential.
The tow ee, usually gets razzed severely for a while, even maybe for a few years.
By the way, two of the three gunnutz that I invited to our camp have already been towed (By me).

Anyone want to share their towing stories.
 
We somehow got a Jetta into the camp 2 years ago, did not tow it but had 3 guys push as it spun all the way up the "big hill" after a light snow the night before our friend was off. Brought in an Astro Van another winter, 5 guys on the back bumper holding onto the roof rack was the only way we got out. My dads new rig has a 9000lb Warn winch on it and that has been used for self recovery a number of times in the past 2 years. If you could not figure this out yet, we do not like to ask the other camps for help, ha ha. Lets hope my 89 YJ will take on some of the larger atv trails this year without the need for a chain and laughs.
 
We got high centered in a flooded road oncee...Sure wish there was a tow truck...

After 3 hours standing in a freezing creek in October, working away. we got it out...Only to find we had a flat tire.:runaway:
 
Yep, I haven't bought any beer for 3 years since I have a stockpile of cases that my friends bring me when I repair their Fords...

I do agree, everyone needs friends with Fords...

Towed

About 25 years ago when I lived on a small coastal island I drove up to one of the logging clearcuts to go hunting at daybreak and parked at the very edge of the road, nearly in the ditch so as to not block the road to others.

Well, when I got back in the truck and started it, it slid into the ditch. It was a two wheel drive so I was stuck.

I walked to the main road and hitchhiked out carrying my gun (ever tried that?) went to a buddy's and got him to come and tow me out.

When I got home my wife was dressing out a deer she'd shot behind the chicken coop.

Put my '68 Beetle partly into a beaver pond coming back from a hunt, long ago. No, they do not float. The electrics and carb were out of the water. Cost me $25 and two hours to get it tugged out. The driver asked if we had a camera. He said nobody'd believe it. It started on the second try after shooting water out of the resonators 10 feet. Carried on without further incident.
