Hi,

I have ordered two different Fobus Holsters for CZ75/85 etc, and neither fit my pistol; I am currently using a Jericho Holster, but with the slide profile, it does not fit all that well either.

What are you using currently?

Thanks,

Mark

I haven’t checked this as I only have actual CZs and not a Norc clone, but I assume a Bladetech would work?

I’ve tried the Fobus and I’m not sure what it was actually designed for, it doesn’t fit my Pre B or 75B.

One fellow on the other site said that the profile on the top of the slide matches the Tanfoglio T-75 (never heard of them) more so than the CZ. Maybe. MyJericho holsters (level 1 and Level 2) is too tight also due to the shape of the slide.

He probably meant the Tanfoglio TZ-75, which is a clone of the CZ-75, a pretty good copy too, except it has a weird hook on the trigger guard that make it not quite fit a CZ-75 holster.

Hey Meroh...been a while....I found out the cz85 is NOT the same size as the nz85....its bigger on the frame and slide is not the same either. I saw a guy with a beretta holster for his nz85 and looked like it fit ok. I put my nz up for sale and had no bites as its just too big for my small hands. Love my tangfoglio copy though. (much thinner frame and dead nuts accurate too)

Uncle Mike's S&W 59 too.

This is my next step; I believe it is Uncle Mike's size "20".

I too found the NZ85 a little "awkward", and blamed the rather slick factory grips. I picked up a set of the older injection molded CZ grips, and they were thinner and it made quite an improvement for me (they needed a bit of fitting with a die grinder, but were easy to work)... then I looked at a CZ in a gun shop that has the newer over-molded checkered rubber grips, and they felt way better yet! I ran an add here to find a take-off set to see if they would fit, and found a couple sets. They are a perfect fit, they go right on the gun, but the screw holes need to be enlarged slightly to take the Norinco grip screw. What a difference; not only does it fit me way better, but it is way easier to grip the pistol the same way each time, and this has made a real difference to accuracy for me. These grips are way less slipery than both the nork and the the older hard plastic CZ grips.

I had hoped to find a NZ40 to replace my NP58 that was very fussy about ammo, and way to fat in the grip for me. I had no luck, so I picked up an all steel, full sized Jericho with range kit from Tenda for $559.00 with three mags. The grips are not as nice, and are not the same as the CZ, but I am very happy with that pistol; but I do like the pistol, and shoot well with it. I picked up a CZ .40 S & W mag for it (needed 4 for PPC), and it works perfectly, also the Jericho and CZ .40 mag fit the NZ and hold 14-15 9mm; and they feed without any stoppages. NZ does not fit the Jericho holsters I have.

I have ordered a Cytac Level 2 holster listed for Beretta92/96, Tauris, Girsan and a Fobus Level 1 listed for S & W M & P 9, .40 and .45. Hopefully one or both fit. If both fit, I will keep both, if not, Amazon has a good return policy.

I use a Bladetech (can't remember the exact model) for my CZ 85 Combat. But you have to check the thickness of the trigger guard against the CZ 75/85. If your Norc has thicker trigger guard, you might be out of luck. Thinner will require to tighten the 2 retention screws with rubber bushings in between. Otherwise, you might need a custom fitted holster.

Thanks, it is not the trigger guard, but the slide that is a slightly different shape. Most plastic holsters are injection molded, which is thermo-plastic; if worse comes to worse, I think I could jam the pistol in and heat the holster with a heat gun and let it conform, but that would be a last resort.

Near as I can tell, the slide is slightly deeper on the Nork at the front end, and the flats on the front of the slide do not run as far back as they do on the CZ pistols. The Jericho has tapered champfers on top corners of it's slide, which is why the NZ won't fit in a Jericho holster.

The Beretta 92 holster is actually a Cytac holster; it is tight and not adjustable, so will have to do a bit of work on it. The Fobus S &W holster is too lose for the NZ85; but is about a perfect fit for my steel full sized Jericho (which I already have two holsters for. LOL. I'm going to try and heat-fit the Fobus Holster, and will keep looking. The Cytac is the best so far.

Uncle Mike's is perfect fit. Asked a friend who found that ended his journey after similar trek.

I have been looking for one, but I can not find a right hand, size 20, paddle, level 1 or level 2 holster anywhere in Canada; my search for one continues.

They are indeed! Got one from a member here, and it is perfect. My search is over!

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and advice!
