I believe the Ruger No 1V was a rifle with a clean, bull barrel and was chambered in some varmint favourites like 223 Rem, 22-250 Rem, 220 Swift, and 6mm Rem. Some were even offered in 7mm Magnum and 300 Win mag for that powerful varmint punch!......

Correct, the 1-V is much like a 1-B but with a heavier contour barrel and target style bases. (V is for Varmint)
