Anyone know if these are legal to own with a restricted license?

Should be... 6" barrel and all?

Alright so since nobody has pointed it out yet just a disclaimer about the gun in the first post: IT IS A MUZZLE-LOADING SHOTGUN, IT DOES NOT CHAMBER SHOTGUN SHELLS. This is why on the American website they tout needing "no ffl" and "California legal" and a large portion of their sales comes from people who don't read the description and don't realize this until they get the gun in the mail. Although front-stuffing shotguns are also fun, many people do not enjoy the tedious process of black powder shooting.

However since in Canada we don't have certain ridiculous laws like no shotgun pistols, there are alternatives such as those single shot Rossi guns from several years back and a year or two ago CanAm got some restricted SxS 12ga pistols with 3" chambers from turkey called the raider. Currently sold out though.

Actually the OP presents a break open pistol, as does the second entry - the picture. Having fired a shotgun one handed, a seven pound O/U, the recoil is up in the higher range. This would be in the same league as the 45-70 derringers of a number of years, decades? back - nothing that I ever wanted to be part of. Don't get many dinosaurs crashing through the back door.

might make a functional 'howda ' pistol, but then how often are you tiger hunting from elephant back?

Irunguns chimed in and said these are a no go, unfortunately.
I'm sure CanAm could whip up a limited run similar to these.

Yes, I am aware that it is a break open but all that you load is the primer, no shells. Here even right from the description on the website: “Caliber: 12 Gauge – Conventional 209 Primer Breech Plug Design BP muzzleloader, suggested load 40gr ffg, 1/2 oz shot”

BP or not, it looks fun.

40gr of powder and only a 1/2oz of shot wouldn't be too bad (compared to full power 12ga loads), thats significantly less than the average 20ga target load.
