Uh because they are left handed?

That said - I'm a lefty and have muscle memory for RH safeties - so have never switched any of my shotguns over, ever. I've just found keeping them all RH is easier. Only shotguns it doesn't really work on is the Beretta semi autos where it's in front of the trigger - it's hard to shoot them quickly from a low ready as a LH.

Gravel Agency is the Canadian supplier for OEM Remington parts.

Now I just had a look and they don't list a "left hand safety". So that makes me wonder ..... hmmmmmm?
Are you sure a right hand safety will not work when used "reversed" on a left hand 870??

p.s.: Gravel lists Trigger Plate Assemblies as left hand and right hand ... so I would assume that the standard safety works with both .... you just have to switch the safety around. My assumption .... I don't know for sure .... But I am assuming you want that safety for a left handed 870 ... right?

It's a different trigger group on LH 870 to my knowledge - reversed - meaning a standard safety will be LH in a LH trigger pack.

I can tell you with certainty that you can't just flip a RH 870 safety and make it work for a LH.

IIRC Midways sells the Fortmann's plastic left hand safety, that's a "drop in". The other choices are a new trigger pack, or drill a new detent hole. I believe that the early 870's (1970's) are reversible, but after that it's not. YMMV.

Only problem is Midway won't ship to Canada.
