Enfield WTF

A US Importer brought in a bunch of guns from a jobber in India/Pakistan (recently assembled) made of original bits and pieces and also cheaply made repro parts. They consist of Martini-Enfield up to Jungle carbine look-alikes, most of them were sold by SOG in the USA.

Aieeeee...Khyber Pass Rifle...run for your lives!

So what is this thing? I seem to recall seeing a warning about Enfield put togethers that were concocted out of some importer's spare parts bin, with a story to match.

whaddya think? it LOOKS kind of neat...But where are the sights?

It's a Khyber Pass rifle made in one of those home workshops in the Khyber Pass. A curio only, not considered a real gun that can actually be fired.

Actualy, these are not even Khyber Rifles, which in a way are collectable. These were specifically recently made-up for sale on the US Market at the Jobber's workshop and not made by Tribal Gunsmiths.

No, a friend of mine in the USA was hired by the importer to test-fire some of these, he quick after about the 3rd rifle.

Do you mean after the third rifle blew up?? :)

Seems like a risky line of work...

I trust British and Canadian rifles...talk about eternal value and top quality.

I'm sure they're crap, but for fun... You'd think real Khyber Pass gunsmiths would have to build fairly safe rifles. I reckon that if someone bought something that blew up/injured them, they or their family wouldn't be resorting to lawyers and courts to get revenge... if you know what I'm saying. ;)

My friend quit before one blew up in his face and again these are not real Khyber Pass Tribal rifles.
