Yes you need an RPAL. The registration, storage, etc. are similar to handguns.

When you first purchase the receiver it will be registered as a receiver only, but after you complete the build, the Man expects you to phone in and report the barrel length so they can update the registered data.

This is the "firearm" part of the gun, so yes you need an RPAL and the legalities are.. you have to have an RPAL in good standing. After that you have to build it yourself using a lower parts kit, and all the rest.

I ordered mine on Aug 1st and haven’t heard anything yet regarding approval. My orders still show processing, hopefully soon as this was a birthday present.

I was calling RCMP to check the status of a different item and just happened to inquire with them about this one. They said it was approved that day. However still waiting for TNA to complete it. I don’t know if they’ve received the email yet.
