Hello all I have a front sight gas block on my stag 10 308 and I have a removable rear ironsight, I'm wondering if anyone that has had a front sight gas block f marked by the way, has added a magnified optic to I want to add a scope so that I could get use either, any advice?

Any optic over about 2x magnification and you won't see the front sight any more.

It would be better if you replace the front sight with a low profile gas block and just run optics, but if you want to be able to use the irons and as long as long as you don't put a red dot or 1-4x optic you you won't have a problem.
If you want a 1-4x or other low power optic you can (and should) mount it at co-witness height. Mounted so the crosshairs are the same height as the iron sights should give you a good cheek weld on the stock and at low magnification the front sight will be visible through the scope but won't be in the way.

A one piece mount like the Burris PEPR or any other brand one piece cantilever style mount will get you at the proper height for an AR style rifle.

Ok thanks, I have a low profile gas block with the 16.5 inch handguard, my goal is to have a second upper for that, I'm thinking of having one with an optic, the other with a ACOG if I can afford it lol, but I have a NcStar rear iron sight, but my rings are short , I'm looking at a 3/4 to 1 inch riser to clear it or most of it haha, I have a 3-9x vortex Viper I'm thinking of putting on it

Skip the risers and just remove the rear sight when you put on the scope. Can't use both at once and it's better to have a good cheek weld than to be able to keep a rear sight mounted just so you don't have to loosen one little screw.

If money is tight forget the second upper, from what you've said so far and not knowing exactly why you want a second upper I would spend the money on ammo, and a decent rear sight if you want to continue to be able to use irons from time to time. You'll get a lot more shooting in if you spend your limited resources on ammo instead of buying another upper then trying to feed them.

I would buy a quick detach PEPR or one of the other $100-$150 one piece cantilever mounts and a better rear sight so you can swap back and forth easily and just enjoy shooting your rifle. You can always buy a second upper down the road if your financial situation improves.

If you want the second upper so you can have a 6.5 Creedmoor upper I would simply buy a 6.5 barrel and swap it in. I own semi auto's in 308 and 6.5 and the 6.5 does everything a 308 does and more. The only things 308 has over 6.5 is cheaper bulk ammo and it being easier to find in stores, other than that the 6.5CM outperforms the 308 in nearly every category.

What type of shooting do you do with this rifle? Just wondering why you want an ACOG on a 308.

Honestly though, since this is a semi auto, I would skip the 6.5 if that's part of your future plans. 6.5CM is not as easy to find ammo that feeds a semi well. My rifle is quite picky on what it will shoot and is most reliable with my handloads. Hornady Superformance for example is too hot for it and causes all kinds of problems in my rifle.
