i have been eyeing one of these ever since they came out.
as i have the Commander and the normal SR1911 and i have a fetish for the 10mm round it was a natural desire.
thankfully the price has kept me away.

then this summer rolled around and i worked a metric tonne of OverTime and my wife gave me free play with some of my hard earned money.
soooooo...... enter my new toy!

now, i don't usually buy used guns, not that i wouldn't or haven't, it's just that i find it hard enough to buy a new gun sight unseen over the internet so buying a used one makes my skin crawl.
but the opportunity came that a used one was posted on EE and it looked really good and the price was really good so i threw caution to the wind and picked it up.
ill go over that sale here maybe tomorrow or the next day, but the good news, the new toy arrived, i spent the afternoon cleaning it up and and checking it over, even had time to slip out to the range and give it a quick test before i lost the light.
shoots sooooo smooth and light!

i knew shooting the 10mm would be extra nice in the 1911 platform due to the weight of the pistol but i must admit i was pleasantly suprised on just how tame it was.
made my Glock 40 a little less shiny i must admit!

feast your eye upon it!

and it joins the family, Commander 45 - Regular 45 - 10mm

now i just need to pick up the Commander in 9mm and i will have a nice complete family!

They are decent for sure. Much less recoil and faster follow ups with the G40 though. I have a little over a thousand rounds through mine. I had to change out the slide stop because Mec-Gar mags would not hold the slide open for some reason.

Nice. I have an early pattern S&W 1006 myself. I reload using the 200gr TC CamPro plated bullets. Got them doing 995fps. Will get the Ruger at some point. I have the full size 45 ACP as well. Well balanced handgun. Really pleasant to shoot.
Have fun.

How many arms do you have. :) Nice rigs!

Nice looking Ruger .Hows the fit on the 10mm compared to the 45? Specifically the barrel and grip safety.
Thanks

ive been very impressed with the Ruger 1911's, thats why i keep picking them up.
my selection of 1911's run the gamut from Norc's all the way up to Kimber's, and i find the Ruger's are right up there for fit and finish.
this 10mm is nice, it has a bull match barrel, so its a bigger thicker barrel and uses the bushingless set up, but it all super tight.

Thanks good too know. The bushing-less bull barrel might be a good justification to buy one. I don't have a 1911 with one.
