Just got my PAL approved last week. Was going to wait and maybe look at a Beretta 92S for a first pistol but Tenda has the MC28 on sale for $279.99! Figured at that price i can't go wrong and it will get me started at the Range :) get them at that price while you can....

Congrats to both of you on your first,, now the addiction begins lol. Don't know much about the mc28, but I did own a Girsan Yavuz( Beretta 92 clone) and it was a fantastic pistol, hope the 28 is as nice for you!
I highly recommend finding yourself a good teacher locally to instruct you at the beginning, it will make a huge difference in your learning curve without a doubt, and eliminate the bad habits that can form without instruction. It looks like you are a local guy rk99, if you have any questions on finding a good teacher, pm me and i can recommend some local teachers

Thanks for that.. When I lived in Europe I used to own several guns, 686 S&W 357, 38 snub nose, 1911 Colt, AK47, Winchester 1200 and my army issued rifle, SIG Stgw 90..

I like my MC28. I found however, that the factory trigger return spring is very strong & results in a
heavy trigger pull. I took it apart & replaced with a much better spring and the trigger pull has improved a lot.

Well thanks a bundle. More cash spent. Ordered this one to see if it will interest the wife since it’s simpler and possibly quite a bit lighter than my Shadow 2

Thanks. Cool. I just got back in town from holidays and have to sort out a couple details for range membership/transfer. Then I'll get going. I have done some shooting before (used to do a bunch with .22 target pistols when I was in University 25 years ago). So I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

I bought a mc28 used but unfired from cabelas gun library. At first it was super ammo picky and would only function with 147 grain American eagle, after about 300 rounds it will now cycle anything (I’m at about 1000 rounds in total).
Pros:
Decent sights
Fit and finish
Price tag
Accurate

Cons:
Bit “snappy” new shooters might not like it
Trigger is heavy but seems to be getting better
Grip I found to be slick I’ve covered the sides of the grip with grip tape
Overall for the price I’d buy again and am happy with my purchase.

I finally got a chance to take it to the range and put about 150 rounds through it. I liked it. It is snappy but still fun. I ran 124gr Blazer brass without problems. Only problem is it seems to be shooting to the left. Anyone happen to know what size the set screws for the rear sight are? I have an Allen key that seems to fit the front sight but not the rear sight screws?

Likely a metric, Half MM size. Std. set of metric "Allen" wrenches is in 1 mm increments; but sets are available in .5 increments.

Have you fired it from a rest? It may be your grip and trigger finger position that is causing the issue. If it shoots OK from the rest, and you are Rt. handed, try moving your trigger finger so the trigger rests on the first joint; left handed, try pulling the trigger closer to the end of the trigger finger. Seems silly, but it can make quite a difference.

I'll have to check my allen keys. I thought I had some half sized ones but maybe misplaced them. Thanks. I'll try changing my grip but don't have the same issue with the .22 pistol and haven't encountered that before with other pistols. It's shooting ok groups, just to the left so if it's me it's consistently me :)

Got mine this morning. Just dissassembled it, cleaned and oiled it. The magazine release seems a little stiff and the magazine needs a little help to drop sometimes. I assume that will loosen up over time? Everything else looks nice and tight, quite impressed actually but I don’t have too many reference points to compare to. The trigger seemed very gritty but after cleaning and a dab of oil inside on the spring it seems a lot better. Will see what it’s like at the range.

Put a hundred or so round through it tonight. I like it. No feed issues but the magazines are not dropping freely when I press the mag release when they are empty. I think there’s a bit of rough polymer near the release button on the inside catching the mag somewhere. I’ll see what’s up tomorrow when I take it apart again.

I've put about 200 rounds through mine now. Seems ok and my mags drop alright. Might be a slight issue on yours. The sights seem to be off though. It is shooting low and left and I tried a cheapo laser bore sight thing I have and the laser was also low and left of the aim point. Will have to figure out how to adjust that.

Before adjusting the sights, see if you're flinching. Mix up live ammo and dummy ammo in the same mag. When shooting, naturally the live rounds will go "bang", and the dummies will go "click". You want the front sight post to not move AT ALL, when you pull the trigger on a dummy. No movement. None. Zip. Nada. lol!

If the front sight post moves when you pull the trigger on a dummy, leave the sights alone. Time to work on technique.
