Strip - wash - dry - sand 150 - sand 400 - 0000 steel wool - stain - steel wool - stain - stain- wait.

Tru Oil - about 4 coats

This one has the new barrel with Made in Russia stamp on it. Rifling is great. I did some cold blueing on some parts and cleaned up BCG and scrubbed hell out the bayonet with metal brush and oil

Dumb question from someone who knows nothing about SKS's. Most have a shellac on then that looks great at first but scratches off making them look scruffy very fast. Is that original or just for refurb/preservation? What was original?

Mahogany stain that comes with TruOil pack. Stained probably 3 times or more and finished with TruOil, about 4 times
