Need an opinion on this:

I want a genuine HK G36 bolt, and I'm thinking of buying a brand new HK SL8-5 to get one. Plan is to swap the bolt for my aftermarket bolt in my G36, also brand new. I then sell back the SL8 on gunnutz for a heavy discount. I'm thinking around $1200. The question: do you think a brand new SL8-5, with an aftermarket brand new bolt would sell for $1200?

Quality matters, equivalent or upgraded would be replacing the oem bolt hopefully. Someone will be willing to fork out that cash for a 15/85 hybrid HK brand new!
 
Voids the warranty and replaces a quality made German part with a GSG9 US made clone. Hard to say how much it lowers the value, start at $1200 and if no one buys, work your way down. I’d guess you’d find a buyer at or near $1200, but who knows. I sent you a PM too!
 
I don't think the price is too bad, the downside to the new owner is the lack of warranty service rather than the bolt. Without seeing the bolt in your rifle, it's either the Top Notch bolt or the HDPS one. Top notch isn't great but it will function (should be all silver), the HDPS one has a 2-tone finish (like the G36 bolt) and from what I have read is equivalent in quality to the HK one.
 
The G36 rifles Tactical Imports assembled used GSG9 bolts. Don’t know how they stack up against the other aftermarket bolts, but against HK it looks like junk.

GSG9 / special weapons / top notch, all shell names from Todd Bailey companies. They have to switch names every so often to trick people into buying their stuff again...
