I have 2 Shadow 2. One has about 50K rounds through it and broke the slide stop today. So I grab the other one that probably has less than 5K rounds through it and about every 40 rounds it has a failure to extract!! This has been a pretty reliable pistol until now! :runaway:

Does it simply need a new extractor?

The final fix for me was a new extractor even after trying the extra strong spring, never had another issue and my gun was pretty new at the time

Don't know much about CZ2s but you say you have two of them.

Changing the part you suspect to be faulty from one to the other may help to determine the cause of failure. But then it could be the ammo too.

I agree; they are easy to change; but be careful with the spring; they have a tendency to wonder. I had one break the tip off, and would not extract. I reworked the extractor with a diamond file; the back end sat a bit higher than normal, but it ran great until the new one arrived. I have kept the old one as a backup.

Push the pin out and clean under the extractor. My Shadow 1 and CZ75 both build up fouling under the spring that packs in and can't be flushed away. I've had both of them off and "chiseled" out flakes of packed hard fouling. After that the extractors moved over a noticeably bigger angle of motion. In particular inwards.

... AND the other thing to look at while you're at it is to ensure that the actual hook that snaps into the groove is still "square" to bore axis and sharp. If it's worn or part is chipped away it might tend to ramp over the casing rim.

Actually, I think it was. But I’ve used plenty of it in the past with no problem, so hmmmm?

Blazer brass has terrible quality control.
I've run into a LOT of people who have problems running it in their guns.
I know a few people who've blown up guns with it because the cases weren't crimped and the bullets became set back. That was late last year/early this year but as of late the problem has gone away.
Try some American Eagle or S&B and i suspect your problem will disappear

I kind of wondered, as you can buy Blazer brass cheaper than a commercial reload. But you do end up with lots of once fired brass cheap.

I couldn't help but laugh when I read this part, I can confidently state that you're full of $hit.

Check the extractor and spring. May want to just replace them both as they are cheap enough.
FWIW, Ive had 3 Shadow 2’s and a specific brand of brass has never been a problem.
They will generally eat anything.

So, Maybe you can explain the two guns in pieces. Glock Canada/USA also agrees with me. But obviously they're full of $hit too

Sure buddy, like I said, you're full of $hit.

I'll leave it at that so this thread doesn't get totally derailed. I'm sure people will be able to decided for themselves.

Just curious about glock not recommending blazer brass, where did they mention this?? I use it most of the time and have probably fired about 80k of of it with very few issues. The only thing I see sometimes is the bullet is seated to far down

Where did you see glock not recommending blazer brass?

There's lots of people using blazer brass without issues.

But conversely ive seen a lot of guns that have consistent problems that only manifest with blazer.

Most likely a case of batches/lots that slipped past qc.

Bullets seated too deeply can increase pressures. May or may not be an issue. I personally would reject a deep seated round if I noticed it while loading a mag.

Thanks for the PM.

As I mentioned, I use lots of 9mm. Never had a problem with CCI but just got a new batch of it and I'm also having ejection problems in my Beretta CX4's with it. I guess I'll stick to Federal, it's usually int he same price range.
