good morning,I am flip flopping back and for the between these 2 and was wondering about thoughts on both,I was leaning towards the f12 match, but I had a chance to hold both of them and the typhoon just felt better
thanks in advance for your input

2 of my buddies just got new mag feds. One got the Derya Match and the other the Typhoon Maxi. Typhoon broke in quick and was eating rounds nonstop after 1 box of heavy load ammo. After 5 boxes of heavy load the Derya still has stoppages. I’d be spending my money on the Typhoon

Typhoon is garbage. Poor design on internals and no warranty support. I had both and sold the Typhoon for parts. My Derya has been flawless. That would be the MK12. It is my understanding the 10's had issues, but I never owned one so I can't speak to that.

Pic your flavour as both designs have there good and bad points. I am shooting the first F12 that came from Tacord and I won't say it's been perfect but after being well broken in it is running like a champ now. Warranty for me has been painless as I did crack a weld on the carrier but I had a new one sent to me at no charge in a few days. You gotta remember that these are not a Dissident Arms KL-12 which cost $3700.00 US. If we could own them up here then I would have one. For a Turkish made mag fed shotgun, they do fine for what they cost. Mine has been extensively modified but the internals are all factory parts less the trigger spring and charging handle. If you keep them clean and well lubed like any competition gun, it will serve you well.

I bought mine from NAS Guns. They ignored my emails and phone calls about warranty. Mine wouldn't shoot at all. Trigger Wholesale in Waterloo also did warranty work. I sent it to them and marked the insides so I could tell if they took it apart. They sent it back saying it was disassembled, cleaned, and shot fine. Of course, it wasn't even touched. I put up videos on YouTube and Typhoon Industries tried to get them taken down and sent me a bunch of hate mail lol. Buy your Derya from Odell and they will take care of you. My Derya has shot everything right out of the box and even cycles my spare Typhoon mags.

I wouldn't take a free Typhoon.

Sometimes you get a bad one. The last Derya MK12 I had would have looked like a hockey stick on the way home from a shotgun match had there been a tree near by for me to wrap it around. Like I said, they are no KL-12, but for what they cost they really are not that bad. I've heard some guys saying that the Typhoon and Derya are made in the same factory, but just leave through different doors. Who knows? I have over 1000 rounds through my main gun now and am slowly working on putting rounds through my back up F12. To each his own I guess.

Seams pretty split down the middle, you guys aren’t making it any easier lol,it looks like as long as I don’t get a lemon I should be happy with either.i shouldered both and the typhoon felt better so I’m thinking that is going he way I will go thanks for the input.

My local store, Poco Military Surplus, has since discontinued the sale of Typhoons in favour of the Derya models: The Typhoons suffered from badly polished internals over that of the more refined, and slightly more expensive, Derya shotgun.

That said, Although one of the chaps on this board suffered a lemon, it was the store's experience that the Typhoon was returned for fixing at a rate of 100% - with the exception belonging to those capable of diagnosing and smoothing their own internals.

Now, the only Derya "problems" seem to be from noobs unaware as to how to operate their gas settings.

Derya +1 [Even though I own a FD 12 'cause bullpups are cooler].

Cheers!

When in doubt, just call Cassy and get a Versa Max Pro. :)

Excellent product, excellent service and no regrets.

soooo, what does the versamax have to do with what I was asking?

Depends...
As noted by others both the Derya MK12 and the Typhoon f12 are experiencing teathing issues.
At $1000 per, may prove to be uncomfortable to some.
The local gun shop here reports both require higher-end performance shells to function correctly, which adds to the cost.

Assuming you are looking for a competitive tactical shotgun, the Tactical Ordinance VM is a solid performer and a great choice.
If your mind is set AR Style of Shotgun, then you are free to disregard the suggestion.

Respectfully,
Rick

Rick, can you please share what are those magic shells for the people who has derya and typhoon with not reliable cycling...

Something like Winchester high velocity high brass super pheasant would be ideal but way too expensive. The sporting clay loads are fairly brisk for birdshot. Basically not 1145 FPS el cheapies.

100 low recoil slugs is all it took to break mine in and now it runs flawlessly. Since break-in I’ve shot 2 IPSC shotgun matches and 1 3Gun match, Plus a few range sessions. Easily over 350-400 rounds of birdshot ( the cheap stuff) without a single hiccup.

No magic required.

My friend has a derya mk12 . Initially it had some stoppage on the first 30 rounds . After taking it back home and cleaning it he said it was totally gunked up . So he thoroughly cleaned the entire gun , lubed it up real nice and we been blowing through ammo since .

No experience with the typhoon but it at least gives u an idea about the derya
