Stag 10 Brass Help

IRG carries a 6.5 Creedmoor pencil barrel by 2A Armament. $380 USD barrel + $25 USD US shipping works out to approx $540 CAD + Canadian taxes and shipping

I've had 2 McGowan stainless blanks spun up and finished for that price. For $500+ I'd go custom instead. To be fair, my friend is a machiist/gunsmith and I didn't get any fluting and it was a couple years ago so it might cost more today.

I guess I got lucky, my MRA 223 barrel seems to be fine, no weird brass.
Nitriding should not have anything to do with that unless the chamber was rough prior to treatment.

Here's what my shilen's chamber looks like and what it does to my brass. I do believe there is supposed to be a bit of texturing in the chamber but im also not sure how much is required.

^the difference between a company that knows what they are doing vs one that doesn't.

Most people seam to think the Criterion/Fulton Armory is the best lower cost option, I tend to agree from what I have read. They seam to shoot great and I haven't read about any issues. They are unfortunately a bit of a pain to get but, that tends to be par for the course living in Canada lol. Personally, I am going with a custom McGowen built to my specs. Jerry from Mystic Precision is bringing it in for me and has been very good to deal with.

Thanks

Jerry
