My neighbor has a No4 MK1 303 British 1942. It has a sporter stock and he would like to get the original military stock for this model. Is it possible to buy these stocks?

He also has another old 303. This one is stamped “BSA 1917” and he needs a magazine for it. I thought this would be a great place to get info on these old rifles and if parts are available. Thanks.

The butt isn\'t hard to replace. The fore end may be more complicated if the muzzle and front sight base lugs have been cut back. Take a few more pictures of the front 8" and we'll be able to give better advice.

If the barrel on the No4 still has two lugs on the sides and a crown like ¾" further then it's an uncut barrel. Those can be saved and fresh surplus furniture and hardware installed.

For the No1, the crown is about ⅛" past the two lugs.

I have done a couple. The uppers are easy to find , the metal bits are easy to find but that lower stock can be difficult to find and expensive. The last one I bought was from EBAY in the UK
