WTF.....Colt halts civilian sales of long guns.

Is a total repeat of the 1990s!
No civilian ARs because the sand box wars kept them in the black & they discontinued the Concealed Carry Magnum and Anaconda at the same time.

It's time (once again) for Colt to revisit that chapter between ten and twelve!

I feel no loss. They've not commanded any presence in the retail market and there are nicer, and better, ARs out there from other makes for less money.

It sucks to loose another manufacturer, but you know what much like HK the competitive market will fill that hole with other players sooner than later. Innovate or die. It's that simple to me.

What military contracts? They won the GPMG contract awhile ago but that's the end of it.

They have no dibs in the future of small arms - Colt is not in any of the races. They can't even put 6 holes in the stock extension tube. SIG USA is the Colt of this generation.

If they are smart, they will close that factory in Connecticut - sell the land and the inefficient workforce, negotiate for tax incentive with a new state like South Carolina and re-establish in a smaller scale, and make Colt Canada Designs. AR15 is not going anyways, but not in the form of M4 in its 2003 Sopmod 1 configuration.

I guess they never learned from their past....

No civilian sales means Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Relying on Mil Sales/Contracts ain’t always a sure thing.

Oh well...

Good thing we got Colt Canada / Diemaco goodies! Ha ha ha ha

Cheers, Barney

Stag was voted as close to colt quality Colt will never learn

Stag/CMT did a lot of sub contracting for Colt. They made all their M203. Last I heard all Colt was making were the lowers and barrels. All the stamped "C" uppers were made by CMT.
