I am looking to get a replacement stock, and have narrowed it down to Hogue Overmolded or B&C Medalist. It is for a Vanguard .223 with sporter barrel. Let the voting start ;)

How about something real like a composite from Robertson Composites. No tupperware there and a product that will last you forever.

Many people who look at the display of stock styles on Robertson's website turn to other makers. Seems like a love - hate relationship. If you can find a style that meets your needs they do make a reasonable product.

Don't forget McMillan and HS Precision. You won't regret it.

Got pics you can put up? I don't know what either of the stocks looks like.

I put a Hogue with full-length block on my stainless model 70 .270. It's very well made, fiberglass + aluminum with the soft rubber 'over-molded' (whatever tf that means...) around the outside. It feels fantastic in the hands, just as rigid as any other fiberglass stock, and the bedding surface is excellent.

But, it's heavy. I'm sure the bedding block adds most of the weight, so if you're looking to set up this .223 as a 'walking' rifle I'd avoid this particular model and consider the cheaper Hogue instead.

The B&C Medalist is a shoo-in if you're going for the classic Weatherby look--that thing screams California School.

I accept that the Robertson stocks are well made products, but twice I looked hard at them, and twice I bought Mcmillan. McMillan's stocks are pleasing to my eye, the Robertson's are not. I've owned a couple of B&C stocks over the years, and have found that they aren't bad, but a little on the clubby side. IMHO, Hogue should of stuck to making handgun grips. If it was me, I'd bed your Weatherby in a McMillan.

Did you order yours direct from McMillan? They are nice stocks, and not much more than the B&C.

I just told my gunsmith what I wanted and left the hassle to him. I got a CZ Express Stock for my Brno an A-5 for my target rifle, and I am quite happy with both.

The Express stock's pistol grip I thought crowded the trigger guard slightly, and I had to put a spacer behind the trigger guard to prevent my middle knuckle from getting wrapped. I thought that the adjustment for the length of pull on the A-5 could of been slightly longer, as it is at it's full extension when I shoot prone however, it works as is so I am content.
