As some of you may have found out I have a Vanguard II with an attitude.

One option is to screw on a new barrel.

If I go this route I'd likely turn it into a heavy barrel type of target rifle.

Now, I don't need it to be a standard belted magnum that will smoke barrels out before you get good with it , so...................

What can/could that standard bolt face be turned into?

Long or short cartridges I don't care.

Not really interested in loading down a 7RM or 300WM or whatever for this purpose , more so a decently efficient and accurate chambering.

How say you?

Id go 416 taylor myself. Followed by 257wby and 264 wm

I Have a Custom Build on a Weatherby Vanguard Action - #5 Bob Jury SS Barrel Chambered in 416 TAYLOR + Finished at 22.5 " - Timney Trigger - Bell & Carlson Stock - Red Blood Finish (Black with RED Spider Web ) - Vortex Scope Rings with a Bausch&Lomb Elite 4200 1.5 x 6 Scope . Stock has alum bedding block - skim coated the alum and then we fully glass bedded the barrel channel with slight clearance . Mitch Kendall Brno284 on here did all the machine and stock work . The action has stock blueing and the barrel is Flat no glare Beaded finish . I Like it - Gonna Gun Kote it Yet . RJ.

Built for BEAR Thumping

7-300WSM throated for the 180 grain hybrid, or sell it now that I plugged this idea to a smarter man
