I live in a rural riding in Central Ontario. Our liberal candidate was just at my door. She gave me a couple pamphlets and I asked about her thoughts on the potential ban on AR-15 based rifles. She stated that no one needed a "weapon" that could fire hundreds of shots without reloading! I asked her how many rds a civilian AR type rifle was capable of holding. No idea! My answer 5. I then asked how many shootings in Canada involved AR type rifles. She had no idea and I don't know either but I would assume not many if any.

Louise Russo in 2004. Shot with an AR-15 stolen from a private owner.
Russo had stopped the California sandwich shop in April 2004 to order dinner while her daughter sat in their vehicle.
A van screeched forward toward Modica, Marresse and bodyguards Andrea Carbone and Pietro Scaduto. The vehicle’s side door open was and shots were fired from an AR-15 assault rifle.
Patrons inside California dove for cover as the front pane window disintegrated, but Russo, who had her back to the window, was struck.
Three handguns were later found inside the van that was stolen from an Eglinton Ave. and Dufferin St. address two hours before the shooting. The burning blue 1994 Plymouth Voyageur was spotted in a ditch at Pine Valley Dr. and Major Mackenzie Rd. Police recovered the assault rifle which was stolen from an Ontario home during a 1993 break-in.

The ORG's are irrelevant. they are just a way to glean an expense fund for the executive; not sure why anyone still gives them money. YOU HAVE PAY TO RUN ADs in the Media they don't volunteer to run them. the ORGs produce this low budget garbage and pop it on YouTube for free to make it look like they are doing something IT's USELESS like them. Take your ORG dues and give it to your local CPC candidate if you really care about this hobby. OH and F@#& Bernier the poor loser if you want any evidence of how useless PPC are check out his candidate in Richmond county Cape Breton, Calls himself Canada's Red Pill on YouTube...what a joke.

I concur the PPC is a joke.

I concur that right now, it's more important to volunteer with your local EDA, and donate to your local EDA. This election will be 'faught' by knocking door-to-door.
 
It is illegal to possess any kind of firearms in Mexico but why all the killings down there are mostly involved with firearms? The Liberals and NDP should go and consult their amigo "EL CHAPO" now in US prison and find out if he will agree total firearms ban will stop gun violence on street.

Me too, send a mail this morning. Told them to not even bother sending a canned message back either responding to my points or forget it. What a joke this campain has become. People can't be so stupid to believe this will change anything, criminals will NOT adhere to any laws or they would not be criminals in the first place what a illusion.

You may want re-read the press releases. They specifically said they will ban "assault-style rifles". Note the word style in there. They have a list of the style of guns they will ban, including the criteria as well as some specifically named rifles. They can ban whatever they want to ban. They have themselves that ability with C-71.

Even if you did this to your rifle (https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/01/19/lantac-bolt-action-ar-15-bcg/) they still wouldn't accept that as a solution or as a compromise so bolt guns with a pistol grip are going to be treated the same way as a regular AR-15. A good example would be the Ruger Precision.
 
IMHO the government should look real close at what they are proposing and the costs involved. They should wisely turn their wrath toward the gangs not legal owners who have absolutely not been involved in gun crime violence. Heres a laugh for you, if all assault and hand guns are to be banned "what's the army and police going to use?
 
Howdy folks! I’m from the States, and it appears your PM has been paid off by George Soros. I say this because the exact same thing is happening here in the USA, primarily with the Libs. He has bought them!! I feel very strongly that if by some way a Liberal becomes our President, we will end up in a Civil War.

They want to buy back our guns with our own money. Just think how ridiculous and stupid that is. Just shows how stupid the voting masses are not to understand the absurdity of this statement.

I have to say though. Looking at many post on here. You guys don’t deserve freedom. Toughen up boys and girls.
 
Instead of a flurry of ar15 buying, it would be better to have a flurry of NR semi-auto buying. I'd hate to see an unfortunate wave of firearms suppliers hard drive destruction by nasty hackers in our paperless society.
 
As was said here, if liberals form a majority then the cost of confiscation will be on them when there are no positive results from it. Remember this will be the university students voting for him (and kids) that will bear the cost for this venture.

I think we should start businesses for firearms tourism to the USA. Using American firearms at American facilities, do week long vacations mastering some art of marksmanship.
