Stag10 vs XCR-M

Weight on m M with Sightron STAC 4x20 is 10 lbs and with good ammo will put first five into 1/4 in and next five opens to 3/4 in
and not a moments problem :)

And reliability/mag interchangeability? Was looking at reviews on the xcr m on the cabellas website.... idk it wasn't looking good for the xcr m
I dont have any mag issues with the XCR. All I have used are XCR 10 rnd pistol mags made by C Products Defense and Magpul PMags. Both rifles feed perfectly both mags drop free in XCR. In the Stag10, 2 out of the 10 XCR Pistol Mags I have do not drop free.

Do your full mags lock in on a closed bolt? Reason I ask is I have one pmag and two XCR-M mags and none of them will lock in on a closed bolt on my Stag 10.

Yes they do, I have noticed with 10 rounds in the XCR mags there is a small mark in the brass. Cartridge still feeds fine though. Once fired the ejected brass looks good. Pmags no issues at all.

Thank you for that. I’ll have to look into this further I guess. Bolt catch maybe?

The Pmag also being an issue is the one that indicates it's a rifle specific issue.

The mag catch is one of the problems that have been mentioned in other threads.

I think some had recommended taking apart the mag catch and checking for a machining bur and removing it with a small file. Others have replaced there mag catch assembly with aftermarket units. Some bend the mag. Catch hole out a mm or so on there XCR-M 10 end metal mags.

I would contact Arms East...there service seems to be stellar. I bet they will help you sort it out.

Hope that helps.

Who's got the great deals? I know Wolverine has a bunch for sale but I don't know if you can call $2800-$3100 great deals. They are nice rifles though...

Used ones silly. Nabbed mine for $2k with 1000rds of ammo included :)

I forgot how smooth the action is. They look even more FAL esque now, I'm in love all over again.

Is wolverine going to start bringing in the mlok xcrs? I've been holding out for the L and M. In light weight barrel I hope. Options in fast 2 stock maybe.

I spoke with them the other day and mentioned that I was a little reluctant to buy an XCR-M because of the Key Mod on the competition model, which is the one I'm interested in buying. They told me that Robinson, as far as they knew, had no plans to move away from it, but who knows, things change. They do offer M-Lok on their standard models.

I think the keymod looks better, but the mlok is definitely more functional.

Well, if it wasn't for the fact I have a bunch of M-Lok accessories, having Key Mod would be no big deal, but if I get the rifle, I'll have to basically buy all my accessories all over again in Key Mod. That said, I may have to hold off on buying the XCR until after the election as I don't want to drop $3k on a rifle that may get banned.

My XCR M and XCR L are two of my favorite rifles. Great ergos, built very well and accurate. I really like the design. The rifles operation is just natural. The only drawback for me are parts can be hard to find which is why I have parts kits for each rifle. Just in case. I've never had an issue with either rifle.
