And I was plaisantly surprised this morning when i found out our issue sidearm will be the HK P2000 in 9mm, secured in a Safariland Raptor kydex holster. I will only fire it tomorrow and friday but from playing around with it, it's a sweet little pistol. Easy to field strip, points well and the adjustable backstraps are a nice touch as well. They come with night sights.

The training will also be nice. They teach good combat handling techniques. You know, the Tap-Rack-Ready for every mag change and every jams, tactical reloads, use of cover, firing while behind cover. We'll practice drawing and double taps. The instructor as been shooting a long time, and did 10 years of PPC competition and knows how to handle a firearm. It'll be nice to be able to learn from him.

Then saturday and sunday it'll be the Use of Force training. We'll be going trough live scenarios with actors and blacks on Sunday. I think it'll be a good challenge and a good test of what I'm worth when the SHTF.

I think I'll enjoy my weekend overall(except for having to cross Champlain birdge every morning:mad: )

Good luck man!!

I hope to be in the same kind of work after high school. Need a good paying job for university :)

No he doesn't. The police are there to protect him.
?????, last attempt against us, with OC, took the cops 8 minutes to show up, there station were 2 block away, in a gunfire exchange in 1995, the police station was across the street, the first officers to show came from another station 4 km away from the evenements, because he was a cop who use to traine us on force/force situation. ?????? Yeah, we are transitionning to HK , but gonna shoot sub-caliber 9MM, when you have to shoot crook who usually wear bullet proof vest, they will feel nothing and just ask for more...and again the QPP disarm us from our .12 gauge shotgun, some lucky members from this web site even bought them from CRAFM. And even more strange, we were allowed to carry a prohib HK P2000,76 MM barrel, but not allowed to the full capacity of the mag. We have to carry max 10 rounds, QPP don't want us to topped the mag, meaning going to 11 rounds total ???? Police there to protect us, no! butt:) there to protect there ass. Happily, a lot of the real police officers in area around Montréal understand our type of work, and when they have time, will make some back up to our team, But cops in Montréal, Come on they are an elite !!!!

Who do you work for Smith45? Garda or competitior? Our P2000s have 91.9mm barrels.

Well just finished the first day of shooting. We shot 300 rounds today. Started out not so good for me. My first shots were total s**t. Way low and way left....at 7 meters:puke: Fortunatly it improved. By mid day, my shots were mostly 10 ring and 9 ring and centered but a bit low. One of the guys beat me to the accuracy test though. He got 92% i got 85%. I can live with that considering I would unholster, acquire the target, and double tap before everyone else even took off a shot. I should mention i had only shot 200 rounds of pistol prior to showing up at work today, so I'm sastisfied, although there's definitly room for improvement. I wouldn't mind taking a pistol class at the SIGARMS academy.

Tomorrow there will be more shooting, another 300 rounds. Then another test. Saturday and Sunday will be Use of Force and Force on Force scenarios.

Can't wait.

You were shooting low and to the left....you are right handed. You are pushing the trigger to the side and pulling the gun down at the same time. Dry fire a whole bunch and you will cure yourself of this. Try loading snap caps in your mag with live ammo as well, that will help a lot.

I was squeezing the grip too much, or so said my instructor. We did load with dummy rounds. I did move the gun a bit on some shots on dummies. Not from flinch or pushing the gun down though. Mostly slaping the trigger. I dont do it all the time though. It was also great for the TAP-RACK-BANG drills. I didn't get a single malfunction, although slide did fail to lock back on last round a couple times due to me not holding the guntightly enough. Overall I think i found a good balance between accuracy and speed. I'm also very happy that my shooting form is always always constant, every single time I pull the gun from the holster. Something my instructor complimented me on.

Sorry Canuck for the mistake about the barrel lenght, me an HK are not really friend, a brand who advertised that some compromise, we don't, and won't allowed civilians shooters to buy there handguns with the LEM trigger, for me they put there words everywhere...And yes I work for Garda and if you are an armored car officers, you will hear me almost everyday...

Cool. Maybe I'll see you around tomorrow or this weekend. I'll be easy to spot, I'll be wearing civilian clothes with the Garda BPV with duty belt.

Are you sure about the LEM trigger? That sucks, it's a sweet trigger!
