I just read the Aug/Sept issue of CSSA magazine. it said Lever arms is planning to bring in 50 type 97 and that there might be a "Second Importer". So who is that "Second Importer"???? Looks like the cat is out of the bag now? CONFESS!

The "second importer" wishes anonymity as it is not a business which caters to the large public.
It does not have a front store where someone could walk in on a rainy Vancouver winter Saturday and ##### about whatever while they don't buy shyte.
From time to time, they bring very small batches of stuff for themselves, friends, business partners, and such, as today everybody is a curio collector.

The same is the case with
a couple of Tavors,
HK416,
some Ar15's made by Colt Defense,
special-order "civilian" versions of some SIG's rifles,
special order HK rifles
and some other krap I don't remember now.

Dr.Lector the collector:)

Impressive photo. Do you have higher resolution for, say, wallpaper in my appartment? I'll owe you a beer...

I'm licking my chops in anticipation to know the price. Hopefully they won't be a dime more than $800 with a bunch of mags and a bayonet.

These ARE chinese made, I don't care if they're super ###y bullpups and have kickass...nevermind.

Deckard and Speckfire:

I’m sorry I have to disappoint you, but I cannot be your hero.
I‘d be more than happy to take your money, but I can’t bring those rifles (or any other guns for civilian use).
I never said I could bring 97's. I might be able to bring in a different Chinese bullpup (one single rifle), just for shizzles (to give the antis and the liberals a kick in the testicles), but the price is not cheap and the process is not simple, since it would be a military gun diverted for civilian use.

The rifles I posted pictures from, I bought them because I had the chance AND out of curiousity (few weeks before buying them, I have read that Greentips' thread about what bullpups are good to go and which are no-no in Canada - excellent thread, BTW). I knew about Type 97 from long time ago (and fire it), but before reading that Greentips' thread about bullpups, I didn't know it was legal in Canada. BTW, did you nuke that thread, Greentips? I can't find it again.

I suggested long time ago that the only person able to bring the Type 97 in numbers is the owner of Lever’s but nobody believed what I said. Lots of wannabe bragged that they could, starting with big businesses and finishing with JackShyteTheRagman from Vancouver Island. But nobody did. LMFAO

Not to mention that in the 97 thread there was a “motion” against Lever’s owner at that time, calling him names and such. Yeah, starting with Armedsask who was master of ceremonies in bashing Lever's owner, calling him names and swearing at him and such and eating blubber without having a clue.
On a different note, I wish it could be made public some of the enormous things that Lever’s owner did for the firearms community in this country.

Today, it is the same situation. If somebody will bring 97’s in numbers, it will be Lever. If he can’t, then nobody else can. That is today. Who knows, tomorrow maybe it will be a different situation and maybe somebody else will bring it, but it’s not easy with everything that is happening today in the Chinese arms industry.

I also suggested that Norinco doesn’t have distribution rights for that gun. Again, nobody believed and kept jumping “norinco... norinco... norinco please save us... nyah, nyah, nyah... norinco this and norinco that...norinco ... etc. etc.”
Norinco never produced anything, they never had a factory, it’s only a trading company.
Look on the Norinco website, Type 97 is listed there. So, why nobody buys that gun from them? Because it's on their website for show-off purposes only, number of visitors and such, and in reality Norinco CANNOT provide it (as the situation is today), that’s why.
Well, Lever could. They showed that at least once.

If they can do it again, it will be a bonus, but even then, 50 guns is a very optimistic figure IMO. Time will tell.

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

Congrats, tootall, for the article, I hope I will have the chance to read it one day.

22lr, if you’re talking about the pic I posted earlier in this thread,
it’s stolen from the net, like the one below.
edit to add: thanks for the beer offer, save it for Deckard

Enjoy whatever guns you have, guys and gals,
elections are coming soon.

Cheers:)

This reminds me of the old song "I'm In With The In Crowd".
My CSSA Journal arrived a couple of days ago. Interesting article. The Tavor portion referred to a test of rifle number 00002; this is the same rifle which Chris supplied to me for the demonstration at OSA. With the various demonstrations being held all over the country, it it obvious that the rifle is being shot a lot by a lot of different shooters who have had no prior experience with a Tavor. This says something about the quality of the rifle.

Do I get a copy, or what ?

I did supply the gun

Dr. VN,
As of Friday, I still have not recieved my own copy!
Bloody Canada Post sent it by pony express, I guess.
I did ask for a box of magazines to pass out to gun clubs and stores (I'm now a Reg. Director) , so I'll have a big mittfull for Lever.

Dr. Lector,
I cannot say any more just yet, but the "other" source I mentioned is not through you, it is a separate one again. Stay tuned for further developments.

Who cares? If they don't bring in things (for profit) because someone on the Internet bashed them, then they says volumes. Move on and get us guns......or not. We can ask a mod to lock this thread.
