Possible New NR Rifles

Hello, first post here,
Has anyone heard of possible new NR black rifles entering the market? I heard BCL was trying to get their Badger to be NR. The main reason i'm asking this is that a NR 5.56 would be a great buy, but considering the upcoming election bringing more restrictions, I don't know if I want to wait to buy something like a WK180c, only to have them be restricted rifles. Also don't want to buy a WK because its super ugly. Anyone else have some insider information on any other offerings?

Indeed, on one hand I want something as close to an AR as i can get, without spending 2000+ on an ATRS. On the other, maybe I should fork over the money before the election just in case they decide to come for all the scary rifles and nothing better will be coming around the bend.

It won't matter because if they ban/confiscate all the black sporting rifles, you won't be able to use them anyways.

Stop panicking, it's going to be a minority government at worst, no new legislation will pass. Just buy an AR, the more owners of those in Canada, the greater the challenge to prohibit them.

Not necessarily a challenge, but it does change the mindset from confiscation towards grandfathering. The proposed handgun ban fell off the radar due to perceived cost, as there are ~800,000+ registered. ARs and restricted rifles are different, as there are under a hundred thousand on the registry - pricey to confiscate, but less so than handguns.

Calm down and breath, just buy a NR. If you can buy one more gun life is good.

The wait to get an atrs makes it a useless purchase as you would never get it before the election/ban you think is happening

I don't think you understand how minority governments work. In the event Trudeau gets a minority government, you can rest assured his gun ban promise will still be an easy piece of legislation to pass.

Guns can already be banned by OIC. No parliamentary process required, no laws to change.
The thing is bans done in this way target guns by model/name and not technical characteristics like "semi auto" or "black"

They don't even need to. As long as the NDP or Greens (or both) prop up gun ban legislation proposed by a minority Liberal government (which you can be assured they will), we're screwed. We can't be satisfied with a liberal minority, or even a conservative minority. The only thing that will stop what's coming is a conservative majority. Nothing else. Food for thought for the people still hell bent on voting PPC.

Make no mistake, I absolutely think Trudeau is stupid enough to follow through with this campaign promise. HOWEVER, I will point out the big one that got him elected the first time around was to legalise marijuana. And how long did that take for them to follow through with? How long was C71 held up? A change to the firearms act will take time. The panic to buy it and bury it, while understandable, is not necessarily accurate.

Three words for everyone to repeat over and over this election. Keep Calm, Collected, and vote Conservative.

Please post an update if you have the time. Whatever you can.

Even if the ban takes time, it's still a ban.

There are lots of options without wait lists if the idea is to "buy and bury". Putting a modern sporter in the ground vs something else makes no difference as to what you will be charged with for non compliance if you are ever found out

The only minority gov't likely will be a Liberal/NDP marriage. If so we are up against it. The NDP is as anti gun or more so than the Liberals. Trudeau is taking about banning/confiscating all S/A rifles and handguns. I would hope the folks in Ontario understand flipping to NDP or sticking with Trudeau will be the end of semi auto's in this country.

It will be interesting to see how many cave to any forced confiscation and how many decide to defy the law.

Take Care

Bob
