Colt Python ( Thnx For Replies)

I was in line first!

He's fool enough to sell it in the first place.........................

Strangeday; wanna sell your 4"?

P.S. give me some time to catch up after cross country move.

You mean he was kind enough to sell it to me...;) He did not have it listed for sale when I asked him about it. A very kind man, indeed.

I don't know what the big deal is. I hate all of my Colt wheel guns. I don't know why I hang on to them... sigh :(

Life is tough...

I lent my ultimate stainless 6" Python to my old man and my 6" 38 Diamondback is in the shop having the hammer replaced, so right now I just have these two to keep me warm at night. 357 Royal blue and the elusive 22lr Diamondback, all purchased here on the board, just keep them eyes open.
Looks good! In addition to my 6" Python I also have a 4" Diamondback in .22LR, to 'keep it company'. Thinking of getting an Anaconda to 'round' things out. Anyone had an Anaconda? How would you rate it say compared to a S&W model 29?

Colt Revolvers

I'm with you Jeff/1911, I like colt revolvers..... :D I also like Smiths though too ;)

Colts just -- rock on--:rockOn::rockOn::rockOn::rockOn::rockOn:

smith vs. colt

so, for all of you who have posted you like Smith and Wessons better than a Colt Python, what Smith gun would you take over a Python--- for similar beauty and quality and fun shooting?
I like both----- just curious...
I will admit--- I admire my colts more... but the Smiths are always the ones that make it to the range
cheers to all and safe shooting :canadaFlag::D

My 4" model 29 with factory ivory. I like my 'snakes' but when it comes to trigger pulls, at best, they still come in at second place. The Smith's are like breaking glass.

I have three 29s at the moment (plus stainless versions), have had others in the past. The only one I ever owned that had a comparable trigger (and I got talked out of it, LOL) had a trigger job. I've used some pre-war 27s that had comparable triggers, but not a lot of them. FWIW - dan

Ok, for a colt, that is pretty. you'd trade a pc 627 for a python?! Gee I wish I had one to offer you for it.....

Now I don't recall saying that I'd trade my 627 for it but I sure would like to have one. A Python as pretty as that probably wouldn't get to come out and play very often though. It would likely be more of a safe queen to be taken out and fondled from time to time. I have always had a soft spot for the Colt Python and that specific piece is just awesome. I'll keep watching and maybe one will follow me home someday. I was at the range today, punching some holes with the 627 at 20 yards. Started out with 38's and ramped up to 357's. 100 rounds later and I could have done better with 000 buckshot out of my 12G shottie. Depressing! I missed a week and it really shows. Two weeks ago it was 2 to 3" groups one handed and 1.5" to 2" groups two handed. It is definitely a nice handling firearm.

Here are a few pics of my Royal Blue Snubby that Strangeday was kind enough to sell to me...:D Thanks, Buddy!

Going by the grips, is that actually a first generation Python? Very nice. I love my 1992 Royal Blue 6" bought on CGN last month but wish I could also do the 12-6 thing and get her 4" and 2" little sisters.
