I'm very new in Trap shooting. I really enjoy that.
However, I have a hard time to find a suitable & fitted shotgun. I need a shotgun w adjustable comb & adjustable stock length as well. Of course, I only have the beer budget. Ppl in the trap club suggests me to get the Canuck o/u trap combo $1500. It is not a huge lot information online abt this gun.
Would you recommend this trap gun? Or you have another suggestion, pls?
Thanks in advance.

No! If you only plan to shoot singles trap you can find a good used Browning BT-99 for less than that and have a much better quality gun. You can even pick up a very good condition used older Perazzi like a TM1 for $2000 or less. If you plan to shoot doubles you can likely find a good used Citori for under $2000 and all these options will give you a much better quality firearm that will hold its value and be much easier to sell should you decide too.

The Canucks are fairly popular in these parts and as your friends have indicated, they have all the adjustables on them. They shoot fairly well and as we all know, in most cases, it's not the gun that causes us to miss the target, it's the human error. These guns are cheaply made and will not stand up in the long term. They will break parts over and over and if you go to trade them in or sell them, they are pretty much worthless.

So, as stated above, and I agree with them, most of us feel that you are better off to look for a used Browning or Beretta in good condition.

When I started trap shooting there was a gun named the Frigon that was all the rage because it was cheaper than the Brownings or Berettas. You don't see many (any?) Frigons around these days but the Berettas and Brownings from that era are still going strong and if anything does break you can get parts for them. I bought a BT99 instead.

I see your problem here, you need a non standard fit, therefore you're looking for a gun with an adjustable stock. You are correct, fit is vital if you want to shoot well and it will be very difficult to find a higher quality gun like a Browning or Beretta that will fit you if you are small in stature. It is tempting to buy a lower quality new gun that has all the adjstments and will fit, is within your budget and it would probably get you started but as already noted, don't expect trouble free long term service and you can expect to lose a large portion of your investment when you eventually upgrade, not to mention the fruatration of waiting months to get your broken gun repaired. There are used Browning and Beretta trap and sporting models out there with adjuatable combs and stocks can be easily shortened, so with patience you can find a great gun. Another option ia a new Beretta, Browning, Benelli, Winchester autloader, many models have completely adjustable stocks.

I have a Frigon trap combo and the reason you don't see any anymore is that when they wear out you can't get parts for them. Ask me how I know. I have a Perazzi MX8 now that is the same age and when it breaks parts are a week away. No problem at all. A BT99 will last forever and when it breaks you will still be able to get parts.
To the OP; If you can find an BT99 Micro that would set you right up.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I have decided going for the good quality used gun, abandon the Canuck idea.
Hopefully soon I can find one with in my budget.

You don't say if you are male or female, just that you need shorter than standard stock with a higher comb, this would be typical for many ladies and hard to find in a new gun. Ladies typically require shorter stocks, more drop and a higher comb to offset this drop. They also appreciate a smaller grip, slimmer forend, moderate weight and a fairly neutral balance. The Syren line, which comprises several brands including Caesar Guerini and others is stocked exactly as you are looking for but they may be beyond your budget. Maybe look for a lightly used Beretta 686E Sporting with the factory adjustable comb, there are quite a few around, sometimes under $2000 and they will last almost forever for club level shooting. Stock length isn't a problem, any competent gunsmith can shorten a stock at a modest cost. A Beretta or Browning field gun might also work well, can also be shortened and an adjustable comb added ( about $250-300 ).

Thanks everyone for the advice.
Yesterday, I was in my local gun store. I found a used Beretta A400 parallel target w kick off. It fits me perfectly & the last owner had installed an adjustable comb as well. Furthermore, the gun store owner offered me a deal which fitted into my beer budget. Today, I took my new bff to the range. Although I still need to practice a lot a lot & a lot, I'm loving my new shotgun.

look at the 870 line (wingmaster) or some other variation with the wood stock (not laminate or plastic) see how it feels/points. This is what I use and it works for me total invested under $600 smack-a-roos

You won't regret buying that gun. And when you decide to buy a Kreighoff you can always get your money out of it. :)
