Turknelli M4 is HERE AT LAST!!!! TAC 12 BY Trigger wholesale!!!!

So the Benelli M4 is a little different when it comes to manual cycling.

Josh

This is what had me scratching my head when I first got my Terknelli. I was completely perplexed and fired off an email to S&J, they promptly replied... but by then, this dumb LEO had figured it out.

Albeit, I understand this isn’t the problem with this guys shotgun.

Again .... idk ... both ....

When the gun goes boom , shell kicks out , Then it goes click.

ah okay now we might be getting somewhere. the gun fires, the shell extracts and ejects, the bolt closes but didn't pick up a new shell so you get a click. this would mean the shell elevator isnt receiving a new shell from the mag tube OR it is but its not elevating it up for the bolt to pick it up. another member was having a similar issue.

i know its probably too late to fire some shots wherever you are but do you remember, when it was going click and you pulled back the bolt, did you see a round on the elevator?

ah okay your gas system sounds fine then, its either your trigger pack, or the bolt release button. you can see how the bolt release works pretty easy when the gun is disassembled and the trigger pack is removed, part of its job is to keep the round in the mag tube from getting onto the follower until the gun tells it to.

as stated above that button with the red dot on it forward of the trigger manually releases a round from the tube onto the elevator, and when you pull the trigger that button is pressed on its own by the mechanism and works with the bolt release assembly, there is a little wedge that catches the rim of the shell that is in the tube, well that wedge moves to the side and the shell pops out. something in all of that is not communicating properly to tell the shell in the tube to get on the elevator, and then the elevator to raise the shell up

the user B. staring on page 21 of this thread had a very similar problem, hopefully he can chime in if hes still monitoring this thread. at first i thought he was saying his gun wasn't firing, extracting and ejecting rounds but i think what he meant was rounds weren't feeding from the tube to the elevator and/or the elevator wasn't lifting the shells up

im guessing there is a weak/broken spring in there, or perhaps some gunk got in where its causing some issues, maybe something like a pin has broke, i really couldn't say without seeing it in person but it sounds like your issue isnt the gas system

tomorrow when you can tinker with it some more, try loading the tube up and putting a round directly into the chamber and see if it cycles properly as a semi auto should. if not, after firing a shot and spent casing is ejected, look to see if anything is on the elevator. if there is nothing on the elevator and no new round in the chamber then the wedge that controls the rounds in the tube might be getting stuck. if there is a round on the elevator but no round in the chamber then its your elevator that's the problem

we're getting closer to figuring out which part of the gun isn't working the way its supposed to

Thanks neon. You've been most helpful all day. I'll ty chambering a round first etc etc and get back to you

The roll pin for the bolt release did fall out of the gun today on its first 2 shots killing that magpie , but I doubt that's the problem , put it back in obviously

Ok. Nope no luck.
3 shots loaded with ghost load. Chambered , ghost load and 1 in the tube

Fired , Did not load from ramp , manually chambered , fired , did not load from tube ..... eject last shell save for next function

The problem is that the shell lift tab which engages the bolt carrier notch has an angle that is too gentle, and it will get pushed down too easily during cycling. When this tab slips down before the lift has successfully lifted up the shell, it will jam. What you need to do is file/shave the part to a more “straight” angle for it to activate the lift more reliably. Remove where the red line touches, it will lift reliably.

All you’re doing here is to prevent the slope from contacting the bolt carrier, and instead allow the top corner to interact DEEP into the bolt carrier notch, which provides a more positive “grab”. This will allow the lift to complete its cycle before this part eventually disengages.

WARNING : Only a very small amount of material removal is needed for the corner to engage, so go very slow, also polish and lubricate.

Wow that didn’t take long. When I did it I made sure to square things up, have a small grit sandpaper with a dab of water ready to polish it. I hope your filing job looks nice. Remember to polish and lubricate.

you nailed it PinaKaleada!

glad you could get it working properly for you wolf, id bet that if B. still has his gun this fix would solve his issues as well. with his gun the issues didn't start until after 400 rounds so maybe the steel was a bit soft and it rounded out over time

hopefully where you are its a beautiful day like it is here in Ontario and you can get out and do some shooting, if not, atleast its a short work week :)

I can’t imagine it to be that hard if Simon orders a bunch of these improved tabs from factory and send it out to whoever needs it. It would be the easiest thing to do but helps tremendously in reliability.

Meh. Just went out and took 1 minute to file down.looks fine. Ya I'll clean and re lubricate soon once at home. Was just at outlaws with my family losing my mind

Functioned again with ghost load , 6 shots , buck slug , rapid fire , ouch my shoulder

What a relief .... prolly don't need to remind you guys how much a non functioning firearm gets under my skin ...... like nukes could be landing all over the planet and my top priority would be to fix gun

Thanks again pina

PS - front sight could definatley use an upgrade

I know that exact feeling. Nothing makes my day more happy than helping a brother solve reliability issues like this. Cheers
