What scope would you all want on a sbl 45/70?

I love the xs sights,always have,but I'm going to scope this Sbl and use the hornady leverevolution 325 grain for deer season,any recommendations on scopes that will take the recoil of the 45/70?Ivead no luck with cheap scopes on big bores as of yet.
 
A while ago, I acquired a Marlin GBL in 45-70 to replace the Marlin GS I gave my Son. When I got the GBL, it came with a Hi-Lux 2-7 scope. Never had anything to do with a Hi-Lux previously but I have changed the mount arrangement and added a XS Lever rail system. It does have a longer eye relief but I haven't yet used it enough to form an opinion on it. For a variable on a rifle like this, I think I would've been more inclined for something more along the line of a 1-4.
 
Nikon Monarch 1-4x20 African Dangerous Game scope with a German #4 reticle is what I put on my 45-70.
Great glass, true 1-power on the low end and made to take the heavy recoil of the big calibers.
I really like it.
 
I flip flop between a red dot (Sig Romeo 5) and Leupold VX2 1-4. Red dot is fantastic but so is the 1-4. My biggest issue with the SBL and any optic is not having a cheek weld; seems to be more of a chin weld and is inconsistent at best for me. I have plans to install an adjustable comb on it, like what a shotgun would have but have not gotten around to it.
 
I have a hi-lux (aim sport) 2-7x42 long eye relief scope on an enfield, forward mounted so that the back of the optic is about flush with the opening to the action, I read about these scopes on a few other threads and decided to give it a go, it is the right mag range and size for that rifle as a bush gun.

I would go with something this size but made by a more reputable manufacturer, the scope mentioned suits that rifle very well and I think it would do well on an SBL. Also it is a 30mm tube, I have a forward mounted picatinny rail and used UTG quick release rings. The scope is very functional shifted slightly rearwards as well, long eye box.
 
Leupold 2.5x ultralight. 6 ounces, clear and bright, holds up to heavy loads...

Probably right. Cant argue with the weight. I do like the idea of going the other way in diameter, something like the vector Apophis 1-6x28 Compact Riflescope with a 35mm tube. You'd get a wider view and arguably quicker target alignment. Would be nice if one of the more reputable optic manufacturers did something like this, not really worth it for trying an un-established manufacturer. Would be interesting to see how they line up /shoulder in a side by side comparison.
 
I like the +60ft FOV of the Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5*32 on my 45-70. So far, no issues handling recoil, I reload using the "Lever Action" Data in the Hodgdon Annual's up to approximately the same velocity and pressure of similar Buffalo Bore Magnum 45-70 Lever loads. To keep wood slivers out of my elbows, I use a weighted Lead Sled on the bench to zero the scope.
