Trudeau's Gun Ban and Buy Back

Folks...in this day and age, and with the resources that the federal government has at hand (that we know of and that we don't), the short answer is we're screwed.
With the Idiot Son of a self proclaimed communist and drug addled skank having even won a minority government, it says so much about purchased media, the integrity of the Liberal party and the (not so) common sense of the average voter here in Canada.
The only hope might be a liberal appointed Supreme Court ruling on this or that...minor items that won't do anything for the Canadian public in general...and absolutely nothing for our cohort.
Truth and facts no longer prevail in our Canada.
Hard work and resource management is shunned.
Why? 3 decades of socialist education.
Early boomers were educated by the likes of Trudeau 1st and other socialists who felt that socialism and communism would work best in Canada.
The next generation were educated by those that the former educated.
And now the 3rd generation has grown up and been totally programmed by the socialist/communist agenda against the human need to - work - personal responsibility - liberty.
Those 3 items have been eroded.
So here we are today.
Frankly I'm happy to have experienced the freedoms my parents fought far in WW2 and enjoyed for over half a century.
It's a slippery slope folks and being Canadians, we know what slippery is.
I don't see any positive in this election - just an endorsement that MAYBE the Idiot Son is an idiot...so let's give him another 4 years to prove himself wrong.
How f&%$ing stupid are we...rhetorical...it was answered tonight.

I have yet to see them accomplish anything except rent a fancy Winnebago with some hostile livery and drive it on a nice cross country road trip. I refuse to donate simply on the fact they don't seem to actually help anything. They love to pander to us though.
 
So much Doom and Gloom on this forum. What are you guys complaining about? You didn't honestly think there would be a blue majority, did you? Of course there wouldn't be. But team Trudeau has been destabilized and you should be happy about that. The next couple of years is going to be all about the infighting between the Liberals the NDP the green and the block. They are not nearly as ideologically compatible as you think they are. Justin's in for a rough ride. And his handlers know that the gun issue has very little to do with Public Safety. It's going to fall by the wayside for things that are more important to that party. Plus, you can count on another election within a couple of years. The LPC is going to be an embattled for as long as they cling to the shreds of power they have. They've lost Ralph Goodale. They may lose a couple of other key people before this is all over. They are not going to get around to a major confiscation or buy back. They don't have the clout and, they also know they don't have the monetary resources.

I'm not saying we don't have anything to worry about, we should still be on our guard and be prepared to fight. We have litigation and other means to stand our ground. Right now I think our tactics should be making the LPC waste as much time on taking our guns away as they can. I, personally, have no problem refusing any confiscation order. I'm nearly retired, and I have dual citizenship with another country I can bugger off to if I please. I'm happy to go to court, but I don't think it's even going to come to that. They have bigger fish to fry now. There is no way a coalition is going to sign off on the half billion dollars it would likely take for an effective semi auto buyback.

if they try to silence us then it is confirmation that we are no longer living in a free nation. I think we all know what happens to tyrants when a certain “3%” resist.

But, you're forgetting one thing. The Liberals/NDP and the Greens "ALL" want to ban semi's and handguns. That, I'm sure they won't be fighting each other about.....

Except there's a big difference between what the Liberals are claiming that will cost, something like 60 million and what it would actually cost, which is half a billion. They may want it, but they don't want it badly enough. There are other things they want more.

Go back and look at the last four years of this government, one consistent thing you're going to notice if they don't follow through with too many campaign promises, and the ones they do follow through are ideological slam dunks. They don't have any structure or real game plan with this gun ban, it'll take years to put it together, and they're going to be embattled for most of that time.
 
If you don't protect what belongs to you then sooner or later it belongs to somebody else, that goes for your guns, your wallet, your land, your home, your country, everything.

It is your job as a man to protect it, it's the story of America, it's the story of the whole Goddamn world.

There ain't nothing that can change that, not you, not me, nobody.

Perhaps, but how high it is on the agenda now that the election is over is a completely different thing.

You can use fear tactics to get the vote, that doesn't mean it stays a priority once you have the vote.

For example with the Environment being a significant issue and competing opinions on how it is to be resolved between factions there is room for a lot of infighting.

That being said we need to continue fighting, every step of the way. So many people are being quite pathetic with your defeatism.

I think this is the key point of concern. There is public support for this initiative. Why not come out of the gates with a big win and deliver on a campaign promise. Ndp. Bq. Libs want guns gone.
I really don't want to spiral and be negative, but it is unfortunately what i believe the outcome will be on this. Minority gov or not. They have made canadian’s truly believe there is a genuine threat to there safety because some spooky boi ar-15’s are in private citizens hands.

I feel sick. Its 12:23pm in ontario and i don't know how I'm falling asleep tn

Also, the municipal handgun ban doesn't have a leg to stand on. It would be constitutionally challenged right away, and it's going to take, unfortunately, is for one more smuggled gun to be seized by police in Toronto or Montreal or Surrey to convince the on the fence public that legally owned handguns are not the problem. They weren't a problem in the Danforth shooting, and even my most liberal supporting friends know that.
 
Although like the rest of us here I have a vested interest in the Liberals being totally defeated I am almost more disillusioned with the mentality of die-hard Liberals...How can they vote someone like Trudeau back into office with almost a majority...Unfortunately, come the next election all the scandals and stupid behaviour will be an even more distant memory and I am afraid we risk a Liberal majority...Maybe Rona will save us the next time around
