Everyone has the tactical but I can't seem to find or get anyone to import the Entry.
Has the shorter barrel.

My girlfriend is tiny and we live in one of the highest crime rate towns in Alberta/Canada, there has been more than a couple home invasions of mistaken identity...and to boot I work away 2/3 of the time.

So after taking the other important steps such as security door/screws/plate with smart cameras & smart deadbolt followed by a tazer baton flashlight she walks the dog with I feel the last piece of the puzzle is to get a M2 Entry housed in a Hornady RDFI Quick safe.

She's 110lb and 5'4

One of my buddies thinks it's better to have a big heavy short gun to help weigh the recoil down but my thought is making sure she feels confident and comfortable in her hands/ moving around.
In the worst case she will only end up pulling the trigger once anyways.

Of course we will take it to the range and shoot it but that's just for practice and it won't happen often as shes in med school.

Thoughts?

Thanks for replies... Turns out guns the same just different barrel but again local places can't help me..

She has a little dog lol
Can't build a fence I bought a starter home aka mobile home park (fking nice though!)
Have motion light in front and porch light comes on automatically at night (also has fish eye camera)

Stock looks okay, shorter pull, rubber grip & butt plate

I'm a shotgun advocate, but with a petit woman shooter I'd recommend some kind of handy and light recoiling carbine.

I don’t think an auto shotgun is the best if stressed and not well practiced. I would say 14” 870
Even worse considering short stroking and the issues involved with jams on pump actions. I have always found clearing an auto is easy, but when a pump gun mucks up, it's a more involved process to clear it. Don't know why, but that's just from my experience.

Loading a tube fed shotgun under stress from someone who isn't going to practice a lot is also a consideration.

Shotguns are a high skill gun, and let's face it, she's probably not going to be as serious about practicing and training as you are. A modern semi auto rifle with a few 10 round pistol mags is going to be a much easier gun to use for someone smaller and less skilled. Easy to load, lighter than a loaded shotgun, less collateral damage in case of missing shots, and less recoil and faster follow up shots. All desirable traits for lawful use. :)

Lights and fake cameras dont tell anyone they aren't real order a couple security company stickers off Amazon make it look legit. Cheap and effective. Other than that small framed pump action 12 gauge with light load 6 pellet 00 buckshot. Lots of practice but hope it never comes to that. But the world is changing.

Storing an unlocked restricted in a "safe" with a biometric lock is perfectly legal. My restricteds are no more or less accessible than my NR guns, as they're all stored unlocked in proper gun safes. Loaded magazines beside unlocked pistols in a safe is legal. Storing a shotgun with shells in the mag tube, however, is not legal.

But back on topic, a recoil operated semi is NOT ideal for a 'tiny' light person under stress. If not shouldered properly (Which is almost a guarantee in a high stress scenario), it will FTE and jam. A gas gun would be a much better choice, IMO. Gas operated shotguns typically also absorb more recoil than recoil guns. If it has to be a shotgun, check out the Beretta 1301 if you want a lighter semi 12 gauge.

An M4 is considerably more cost, it is gas operated and a bit heavier not sure how I feel about that part but I think the M2 is a pretty solid weapon

You are right. The M4 is heavier & pricer.
But Will you find an M2 entry in Canada?
Last resort is to import one from the US.
Why don't you give a call to Prophet River arms, maybe they can special order it?

Yeah I Geuss I'll have to work with a dealer, I was told a FFL dealer, and have it custom imported.

She has fired a 12g before but it's been a considerable amount of time.
Heck I haven't fired in almost 4 years but now that we are moved and settled this winter we will get into the local range on a more consistent basis. Well I will she's still swamped with uni but I'll get her out from time to time.
