The best of the best.
In an U/O - Fabbri, because of the steels and engineering.
In a SxS - Purdey, because of the elegance of style, proportion, balance and craftsmanship.
(In a semi auto - Cosmi, because there is no other high end auto.)
There are a handful of others that come close (some might argue surpass) . Boss makes a pretty good U/O and F.lli Rizzini makes a pretty good SxS for example. The Cosmi is unique, but not in the same league as the double guns.

Extrema II (Beretta) Why? Aquatech treated(only one on the market), kickoff plate(same), gas operation, speed etc. Wish i'd bought one instead of what i did. Look it up. A few friends have em and they'll cycle ANYTHING and have the lightest "felt recoil" of any gun on the market.

Agreed.
It is definitely the most popular of the cheaper pumps (mostly due to the aftermarket bolt ons you can buy anywhere) but “best of the best” of shotguns…… no.
I'm not knocking it, I just don't think this is what he was looking for.

Benelli makes a super pump in my opinion. Not as cheap as the 870 but a much more hardy and quality firearm.
This is the Nova in my pic. (a great gun.) The "Benelli Super Nova" Is a WAY better shooter than my Nova due to its recoil. It has better quality parts and craftsmanship than the 870 but aftermarket parts for benelli aren't as easy to come by as the 870 Rem which has endless add-ons.
It all comes down to the shooter and what they are looking to get out of thier guns.
Again i'm not taking sides here as pumps are very similar and need to be judged by the shooter.
Pumps are not the "Best of the Best" Shotguns by any means though.

Just because you like your shotgun dosn't make it the best.
I gave an answer to the question asked (and chose a gun i dont even own) and backed it up with factual information as opposed to your "i like my 870" I never "dissed" your cutting edge piece of equipment that you bought. I just think that there are better examples of quality arms which this person is asking about.
Did you read my last post at all? I actually like pumps myself. Seems to me you just want to argue.

I saw some dude take pump shotgun and shot eight clays before they hit the ground,he did the same with an auto!
I think he might get paid to do so,but damn he is good! I'll bet he could have used a Mossburg and done the same!
He used a bennilie and he shot asprin tablets out of the air with an old .22Mag auto!
I think if you are that good it doesn't matter what you shoot!
